Random Stuffs

My understanding is, no! Especially because you have a new school email address too, right?
Yeah. Hmm. I'd have to think about it. If I change accounts would I lose all my Kindle books and stuff? I'd have to see if I can switch back and forth easily on my tablet.

Even though I'm still in school they made me switch to regular prime because I had already used student for 4 years 😡
I was able to get student prime again even though already used it for 4 years.... My account is actually under personal email account but I provide them with student email just to get the student status. I didn't have to change username at all.

Hmph. Maybe I'll just have to try again.

You might have to use a different debit or credit card (or you could always buy yourself gift cards and use them on the prime account).

You can also share prime accounts with members of your household. And you and members of your household don't need to live at the same address. (Hint hint hint...)

Does anyone have experience with the Banfield Student Job Program? Whirling around applying for it and have heard positive things, but would love some additional insight.

Yup. Did it after first year. Loved my location. Was going to do it between 2nd and 3rd year but it was an option at the hospital I had worked at the summer prior, so they just hired me instead. I have friends who did it and weren't quite as happy, so I think it can be somewhat location dependent. Overall, I'm glad I did. I worked on some hands-on tech skills as well and developed communication skills. Also easily sets you up for a job in the future. My clinic was would have hired me out of school if I hadn't done an internship.

Feel free to PM if you have specific questions. I'm sure some things have changed since then.

Back in the summer I made a random Tumblr post about X-Men that got inexplicably popular and ever since it blew up I keep getting asks from people who for some reason feel the need to try to explain X-Men to me. I am cackling because I am a huge X-Men fan and the post was a very long and detailed list of reasons why I love the animated show X-Men: Evolution. This makes no sense.

Welcome to Tumblr?

Heh. I once made a couple of masterposts for where you could watch all the Disney and Dreamworks movies online. Once they had been going for a while, some of the videos had been taken down. I got asks all the time about fixing the broken links. People didn't seem to realize that I could only change my original posts, they would still be broken on all the reblogs.

Passed out and gave myself a black eye during a neuter today.

I felt it coming, excused myself from surgery, went and sat down and passed out. Fun times.

Seen and participated in a bunch of surgeries but today just wasn't my day apparently. Hahaha

This is the worst feeling. I've come close to passing out a couple of times, but I've only actually done it once, during a dental of all things. I hadn't eaten and I'd been on my feet all day. I ended up flat on the surgery room floor. I didn't hit anything on the way down, which was good, but my pride was definitely injured.

Ugh that's the worst. I busted my lip on the floor after passing out during a surgery once.

Don't break out teeth. It hurts and is expensive to fix. Trust me

Yeah I didn't eat breakfast because I was in a rush and I was supposed to just be seeing exam rooms with a different doc, but then the neuter turned out to be a huge 6 year old German shepherd...... so she offered for me to scrub in. The ligament was freaking impossible to break and it just went downhill from there. I'm glad I knew it was coming enough to leave and sit down, but tile to face wasn't planned or desired.

I was curious how many hours you work during 4th-year clinical rotations? My vet mentioned it was 100+ and I was like woah! I'm just curious 🙂

100+ weekly? Seems likely tbh.

I think the most I spent on clinics 4th year was 60-70 hours per week. I worked over 100 during my internship (but 80-90 more regularly) a few weeks and it was much much longer than anything I ever did in school.

There have only been a couple of rotations where I have worked over 80 hours in a week. I'm pretty sure I worked just over 100 hours my first week of small animal ER...Most are around 60 hours or so per week.

Is there something wrong with me that I can't continuously be around people. This weekend was obviously loaded with family and I'm exhausted. Two weekends prior we had a family gathering at my aunt's house where I ended up coming home super sick. Had to delay my trip a few hours but finally went on my vacation. The following weekend my aunt had another family thing that I politely declined going to... I had to work earlier that day, we just got back from vacation and the following day was a work party + my sister's litter of children coming over to decorate cookies. Plus the following weekend being this past weekend meaning more people and people exhaust me. Apparently my aunt pitched some fit that for one day, I just didn't want to do anything. Is there something inherently wrong with me for this?

My brother is the same way. People exhaust him in general, but young kids are 10x worse. We love him anyway.

Isn't this just called being an introvert. I have many close friends that can only handle a good healthy dose of people before they are exhausted.
