Thanks guys! 👍

 Now, I'll probably just go to bed and maybe start reading tomorrow late afternoon. 😛

I read all three rather quickly.. They were the first books of that kind that I have read.. Ive heard there are better ones.. But as a newbie to the genre I like them lol

I just didn't like the characters that much. I kept thinking how stupid some people can be..

🙁 No one got to see haircut. Too late at night to be posting and deleting THAT quickly. 😛

I got the Shades of Grey trilogy today. I want to start reading it SO badly, but I know once I start I won't want to stop. And I have to work in the morning. (be up in 7 hours)

There is a battle going on inside my head!

My mom is reading them. I.....try not to think about that, except to be annoyed that she'll read those but she wouldn't read Harry Potter. 😱

I tried to read the Twilight books after seeing the movies (I have heard the books are good) and I made it about 1/4 through the first book and couldn't take it anymore! I love reading but I need books that make me think and have twists and turns.

That experience has made me not even think twice about reading the Shades of Grey books.

On a side note, I had dreams about my personal statement last night and actually my sub-conscious came up with a really good idea. So I got up this morning and just "let it flow" and dang, I'm actually impressed

Yea, I don't like twilight either. And the thinking aspect is why I like dystopian stories. Make me think about what we're doing now and how we could end up in the future.

I've never read a dystopian story ... is there one you recommend?? 🙂

I'm starting the 2nd hunger games book tonight! The first one was pretty good!

I finished the first and second one.. started the third one right before vet school started in August, but never could finish it. I should try to read it again, but I am not very good at keeping up with books and it is near impossible for me to do while school is going on... maybe this summer I can finish the third book finally...

I found a cat at the movie theater tonight. I took her home bc the theater is RIGHT on the highway and I was not risking it for this beautiful girl. I'm pretty sure she has fleas but I'm gonna take her into the shelter tomorrow and I hope to God she has a microchip. If not, idk if I can give her up to a high cat income shelter to potentially be euthanized. Ugh

This is fantastic. It won first place at Vetscapades. Some bad language, FYI.

😆 Histo midterm on Monday so this video sums up my life right now. Awesome 👍

Emiloo that totally made my day. Love the part about cleaning fascia. "It's okay, you were just trying to make it look nice!"

Okays y'all, I gots a serious problem. I got a pair of Danskos before the summer, and love love loooooove them. Now that I'm so used to the amazing arch support, my foot like hurts after just a couple hours of standing if I wear anything else. But here's the probs. My ankles have always sucked due to a presumed collagen defect, and roll in/out --> makes me fall flat on my face. The height and heaviness of these clogs have really exacerbated the problem to the point where I'm really worried about it being an occupational hazard. I trip and fall multiple times a day with my Dansko's and it just won't do. When I say fall, I don't mean little oopsies. I mean like hard falls along with a shriek that adult humans shouldn't be exhibiting.

These clogs are like butt ugly enough, I personally really don't want to wear ankle braces or anything with them (not even sure if that would affect the fit). Does anyone have suggestions for shoes with the following properties?

*Foot support akin to Dansko professional clogs
*Easy to slip on and off (no laces)
*Better ankle support (or not as clunky and trip worthy)
*Water/nasty proof

Sometime in the near future, I'd like to see an ortho doc to get their opinion, but I need better-for-me clinic shoes in the meantime...

look into merrell and keen and see if any of those work for you. You can always add in foot support if needed.

Love my Merrell's.
Everything else, I put "Sore Dawgs" insoles in - they have different levels of support and I use the one with the biggest arch support. I was shocked at the difference they made. I worked some super long days this past summer and was miserable until I put those in the shoes I was wearing for surgery.

I have a ton if trouble with rolling my ankles too. Usually I just walk the pain off when I fall but 5 months ago that apparently didnt work. I'm still having problems with it. Doing exercises to strengthen them has helped a ton though and I don't fall /quite/ as much anymore.

me too. But Dansko's bite into the top of my foot and I can't wear them. Merrell's are great and they make clog styles as well as sneaker styles

Sweet! Thanks Dyachei, Cowgirla and wolfspeaker, I will have to go out and try Merrells. I didn't think about adding extra foot support. That's a great idea!

haha... exercise would probably help with a ton of things in my life... but lack of motivation makes the likeliness of that happening close to 0.

Minner,
Totally not what your looking for, but if you think strengthening might help at all, take up ballet. A little strange, but you might be able to find some rec classes someplace and ballet does wonders for ankle strength.
Otherwise I totally second Merrels. I have to wear lace ups to support my feet, but I'll probably be looking for something that slides on/off eventually.

Yeah, I have the same probs with a lot of shoes. I have unusually small (lengthwise) feet that have a normal height, so lots of shoes cut off circulation at my metacarpal region. That's actually why I had to switch from my last pair of clogs (holy crap they were merrell's) to Dansko's. I guess I will just have to try on like a ton of different types of merrell's and maybe give up on the clog idea.

At least from what I've heard and read about my condition, I need braces if anything. But before the Dansko fiasco, it wasn't bad enough that I needed them. So I'm hoping a different shoe would make it such that I don't need braces. If I had time/$$ for ballet lessons, I prob should invest in seeing a specialist and getting braces... but thanks for the thought. I'm uber flexible and my first three toes are literally like the same length so I've always wondered if ballet might be my thing 😉

Oh not real exercise. Trust me, I don't do that stuff either. 😀

It's like this. Maybe 5 minutes in the morning, sometimes I do it at night too. Made a big difference.

Also, there are a lot of styles of Danskos out there. If all you've tried are the professional clogs, maybe consider a different style with a smaller sole?

I tried a few different styles and liked the professional clogs the best, but I def haven't tried them all. Sigh... apparently I just have to go and try like a ton of pairs

Yeah... the thing is my problem isn't that I rolled it and stretched out the ligaments or anything like that. I have a presumed structural defect that makes them naturally stretchy and therefore easy to roll. I'm not sure how much PT will help with it. In any case, if it concerned me enough, I would just go to the docs... but I have it pretty well under control so long as I'm not wearing my Dansko clogs so I think I should start there.
