Hahaha, I've seen this before being the crazy guinea pig lady I am...I should actually give my two some lap time as we speak.

Screw vet school, cat agility is where it's at!!!!!!

The pole weaving blows my mind....

It depends. Sometimes you can find good deals, but yeah, the 'usual' price is pretty high. Then again, you should calculate out the price for the extra gas for trailering - usually pulling a car behind a u-haul halves the gas mileage. So, depending on how far you're driving and what gas prices are like in that part of the country, it might not be THAT much more expensive to ship.

You do also need to consider the fact that someone has to be there when the shipping company gets the car, and someone has to be at the other end when the shipping company delivers the car. If you're driving yourself, you may not be able to be the person at both ends of the trip.

Crappin' poopin' iPhone. U-HAUL. Not usual. I would think it would still be cheaper than shipping. But hey, get a quote and see.

I need to do this with my cat. He has too much energy and he's ridiculously food-motivated and trainable. He already comes, sits, lays down, and gives paw on command. But *this* would wear him out at the same time. Perfect. 😀

I'll have to find it, but I've seen videos of people training guinea pigs on agility courses. The one piggy did pole weaving and I was like 😱

You could probably never get my piggies to do that.

And bleh. I think I might be allergic to the one type of hay I bought my piggies.

I borrowed a vet anatomy textbook from Pitt's library last semester, I've probably renewed it like 7 times because I like looking at it. Found out today it's used at Penn for anatomy classes. So I'm totally taking it home over the summer 😎

guinea pigs are a lot smarter than people give them credit for!

i live in an orchard grass only world because i am ridiculously allergic to timothy hay!

I don't know if people can see this video, but one of my classmates trained her guinea pig to jump over popsicle stick "hurdles" for our behavior class. It was great. 😀

Anesthesia quote from our professor about why we avoid giving epaxial and hind quarter IM injections to pigs - "we don't want to ruin the delicious part of the pig!"

she says a lot about pigs belonging on our plates - i love it!

I love going to doctors that find out you're in vet school and tell you how they tried 3 times to get into vet school before going to med school :meanie:

There was a wasp flying around my kitchen. I hit it out of the air with a towel and now I can't find it. Either it's dead somewhere, or lying in wait so it can kill me in my sleep.

:scared:

This is why I vacuum things and leave the vacuum running for 10 mins after. I don't know what I'll do when I don't have central vac though....I just can't handle not knowing.......

The wasp showed up again 😱. It appeared out of nowhere right in front of my face and tried to ambush me. Scared the hell outta me but I killed it for sure this time...

I may or may not also be entirely sober at this point...

My SO was clearing out the backyard today, and found where all the cockroaches have been living...and he found an albino one! It's crazy looking! I've never seen an albino cockroach before.

EDIT: I know it may just be a newly-molted roach, but he thinks he saw it a while ago before he caught it, and it's still bright white. We're leaving it in a jar for a bit to see if it darkens.

oh.my.gerd. Kill it. Kill it with fire.

I have seen one roach in my entire year stay at my house. And that was because it was INSIDE of our TV when we moved from our gross apartment building. I have set up a fortress of bug spray around our house. I hate bugs, especially the roaches on steroids that are here in FL.

people are gross and FULL of diseases that *I* can contract. i coulda been an MD if either i wasn't so much of a sickness/germophobe freak or if people weren't even a thousanth as infectious as they are. ew.
😎

👍

Not to mention, cleaning up human waste is WAY more gross than any animal. 😉

I'm taking a specialized organ histology course this week... definitely doing my project on spotted hyena repro systems. Giving birth through the clitoris is no picnic. 😱
