Everytime something strange happens to me healthwise I always tell Rocco that it's Dachilosis, caused by excessive exposure to a Dachshund(s), so it's entirely possible.

The new puppy has to live with a cat for a week or two. How could I keep her away from the litter box? Should I put it on top of another box and hope the cat will jump up on it to use it? Or do you think the cat wouldn't do that?It's an open litter box, too. No top to it. The puppy is about 12/13 weeks old, but I don't know her exact size/height yet..

That's worked for me just fine in the past. Try it and see! If it doesn't work, you may have to get a bit more creative. If you can get a big cardboard box and put the litter box in it with a small enough hole for the cat to climb in (and that hole faced towards the wall with maybe 6 inches between the wall and that side of the box), that's worked with my 20 month old nephew 🙂

That's how I did it with my box. It's a covered one but same idea. And I have a dachshund. Small dog crazy about cat poop. LOL It totally worked but I had to put my sewing machine in its case behind the box because her butt would pull it out/weasel in.

I have it on another box now. Not very far up. The puppy could reach it if she wanted, but I'm hoping it'll last for the two days until I can figure something else out. It's not on eye level, so hopefully it'll help. I'm more worried about the cat being spoiled and not wanting to do something like that. :laugh:

Honestly PP I did this with my old kitty I had. She was 21 when I got the dog and my persnickety little kitty adjusted well. 🙂 Though I know, some cats are just "my way or the highway" lol

I've never had a cat before. And I've only known this one for 5 days, too. 🙄

Yup. Apparently my brother cleaned it all up when he got home at 4:30 this morning.. ups. :laugh:

We decided to buy baby gates, so the puppy just can't get to that area. :laugh:
 
So freakin' tired!! Was up at 5 am yesterday, fully expecting to be able to go to bed at 8pm being as it was my day off. Then I get called in to work at 6pm. 👎 What does my ******* do? Guzzle a bunch of caffeine so I can stay awake at work. Couldn't sleep alllll night and NOW I am tired. When I have to get up and go back to work. :smack::bang:

Is it 2pm yet?!?!

Holy Crap!!

My cat just brought a live squawking young blackbird into my house! :scared:😱

Scared the crap outta me(I was sitting by the door when she came in with it). She then proceeded to go straight to my room and under my bed with it. I managed to get her to drop it, but then I had to retrieve it from under my bed. I think it's ok, no visible damage, but who knows about internal damage, including it's heart, the poor thing.

I'm kind of impressed with her by it though. She came from the farm with a massive ear infection and huge balance issues. She's gotten 80% better, but still can't manage to jump on the couch by herself(she's also 10/11 years old). Yet, she caught a bird 👍

Also, we are under a Tornado Watch and Severe Thunderstorm Warning.
The clouds look scary, but freakin' awesome! Wish I had a really good high res camera!
 
We got severe weather, but no tornados. Those were 25 miles south of us :scared: Its getting towards the end now, I can see sunlight! I feel bad for those working tonight. They will be behind because they couldn't move cows during the weather. So glad I mostly work am's 👍
 
Beeeaaautiful full rainbow straight out from my front door!! 😍 The sun is shining just so, it is hitting the top half of the trees. Looks absolutely awesome!

ooooookay. So I think I need to lay off SDN at least an hour before I go to bed. I've been having weird dreams about it. The kind that mess up your sleep. Last night it featured a lot of strange posts from SOV (I...don't know....) about snakes shedding their skin and how it makes great soup 😕

I had a strange dream about being late to vet school because I had to drive around and find a handicapped spot with people constantly trying to get in and steal things from my car... I'll take SDN dreams! :laugh:
 
I think I should start taking an hour every morning to write down my effed up dreams. I have a LOT of them and I usually remember them all day. Would make a very interesting read a few years down the road. :laugh:

I almost never dream, so mine was so strange! For the record, I'm neither handicapped nor have I ever had things stolen from my car...

I almost never remember my dreams, either! But relatively recently, I've been remembering more of them; I'm not sure why.

I woke up so confused a few weeks ago because of a dream about WW. Someone (I can't remember who now) was telling people things on the thread that I had never told them, and then I realized that they weren't in my group, so I couldn't PM them anyway. It was all very upsetting to dream-me, who couldn't understand how it was all happening. :laugh:

At least that one made some sort of sense, though! Most of the others, I have no idea where they came from. 😕

I was having mild nightmares about being lynched as a wolf. Being a wolf is hard on my delicate sensibilities. :laugh:
 
Abney, how long did you lurk before you joined SDN officially?
I just can't imagine that you kept all of this inside of you, content just lurking from the outside :laugh:
