Random Stuffs

My parents are contemplating adoptinga pair of basenjis through a rescue group. I'm hesitant, because I trained our last dog, which was a lab mix. My min pin stays with them on occasion, and they let him run wild, standing on the end tables, getting up in the window, etc. I just think they would end up dominating the house. All my experiences with basenjis have been either unpleasant or neutral at best.

Any one here a Basenji owner, or know some one who had great ones? My parents are wanting a smaller dog or two that love to cuddle. And I needed one for them that will be fairly easy for them to train.

I know a couple of basenjis. They're great dogs. But from my experience they need a firm hand because they tend to do what they want/are a little wild.

Minor details, right?

I understand why it's so expensive, but, geeze, why so expensive! 🙁

I've wanted to learn to fly since I'm a kid but could never come up with the cash for the flight time. The only thing I can handle is a UH-60 helicopter simulator (had a very unique internship in grad school) and it makes me somewhat sad...

One of my good friends has a sea land and air license and it cost him a fortune! But he says it was totally worth it. He's been to some amazing places thanks to his abilities... He brought back some pictures from Alaska that are simply incredible!!

1) Fuel
2) Fuel
and for something completely different
3) FUEL.

Oh, I assumed that was a large part of the reason, but it's still frustrating!

Still, it is something I would love to do if I ever had the time/funds.

Ahhh, that sounds really awesome! If I ever have the money, it is completely something that I would be willing to spend it on. Just need enough money first!

Congrats Lissa. That photo is WAY too cute! Great job cowgirla!

Lissa, when I saw that on FB I actually showed a friend because that picture is SO freaking adorable. I LOVE it.

I showed my grandma because I liked it so much. 😍

That is freaking ADORABLE!😍 Congratulations!!!!!!!! :soexcited:

Thanks guys. And Abney, Cowgirla did the photography. She has a fancy schmancy camera and did a GREAT job.

👍 You guys made it pretty easy! (Well, except for when your husband was trying to eat your face off or makiing ridiculous expressions )

I totally call dibs on belly pictures in a few months, by the way.

Finnsheep will appreciate this:

So, I have a Study App on my phone. Totally loving it. Decided to brush up on my breeds, so chose that stack of cards. (someone else wrote them) Going through the sheep breeds, surprised just how much I actually remembered from 7 years ago. Most of the breeds list open/closed face, colors, meat or fleece, breeding ect.

I got to Polypay and flipped the card, all it said was : 'Means many income'

😆

You did an amazing job!! And I can't wait to see those too!!!

Congrats to you and your husband, Lissa!! Wonderful news! I wish you and the little peanut a smooth ride...

And cowgirl, awesome job with the pic! LOVE that you placed the focus on the main subject matter and the angle focus is simply amazing. I may just have to steal that idea if my sister and broinlaw decide to sprout another... Now, if you'd all like to do something memorable (although I'm not certain how feasible it would be given your schedules), a picture a week could be really something. Make a timeline of sorts. We did it for the last three months of my sister's pregnancy; and it turned out so well we were kind of bummed we didn't start earlier... But that did inspire us to do an 'official' picture a week of the baby. We have a 52 week timeline of her and it's something we will always treasure.

Again, congrats Lissa. Huzzah!!

Congrats, Lissa!!

I made my dad mad. I decided (without consulting him because it was rushed) to foster a little kitten. He is mad.

Love it!

The Finnsheep tagline is "Profitability is a numbers game." So not too far off... 🙂

From personal experience I can tell you if your dad is anything like my dad he'll get over it. And then get mad and get over it over and over when you do it again and again. 😀

He wasn't mad when I left. Heading
Home now.

If he is like my dad, he will be enjoying having that little kitten around soon enough. My dad threw a fit when we got guinea pigs (well, anytime we got any pet), claimed they were dirty, ugly and annoying... Found him passed out on the sofa one night, asleep with one of them sleeping on his chest....

My dad has already mentioned that I can keep the little guy. Mom is now in love with him.
