Hi!

I feel very thankful for the awesome places I've been able to interview at and have been struggling with ranking. Obviously there's so much to think about, but if any of you have program recommendations or strong opinions about going to/avoiding a program, please please share!

I'm looking for programs which offer top-notch training, supportive & genuine good people, prestige, and optimal work-life balance to allow for family pursuits. Still open about fellowship plans, but leaning towards OB or CT fellowship. My support system is in Florida, but willing to go ~mostly~ anywhere for excellent training! So far, l've started roughly ranking based off of interview vibes, but please enlighten me if you feel some should go higher/lower based on the program's QOL/strength.

General list:
Vandy = BWH = Emory
> Mayo Clinic Jax = UF Jax
> Cleveland Clinic Florida
> Brown = Duke
> Yale
> NYU
> Wake Forest
> USF

Thank you!

I’m not the most up to date on program specifics but NYU does more big boy/big girl cases than some of your higher ranked programs.

My information is a little out of date but I think bwh was shipping residents out to other hospitals for livers and srnas were going into cardiac rooms. Vandy is crna heaven.

My list taking your preferences into account would be something like
bwh
emory
duke
nyu
yale
vandy
brown
mayo jax
uf jax
cc florida
usf

Same, I did fellowship at Duke and worked with their residents. It’s a very well run department and residency program. Durham is also very affordable compared to big cities, and the Triangle has a nice mix of college town/suburban vibe with nice restaurants and local sports, theater, etc.

Vandy, Duke, Brigham are probably your “top tier”. Next id put Wake Forrest, Yale. Next would be Emory, NYU. I don’t know much about Mayo/CCF in Florida as those are off site from the main. Brown I believe is relatively new program.

Great choices either way! Congrats.
