but, with what's been going on this year (and it's not just rumors) i'm glad that i'll be elsewhere.

Please, do tell what's been going on here this year! Columbia seems like a pretty desireable place to be to me and my fellow residents. I'd hate to miss out on the best gossip circulating among people who aren't residents at Columbia.

Sorry... this is intended for RANKS LISTS ONLY.... not some idiotic rumour mill. But thanks for stopping by...

I have a friend who's a current resident there and he loves it. That being said, my top 3 are: Sinai, Columbia, NYU.

Good luck, guys!!! (except the people ranking Sinai #1 of course) 😀

Rank List:

1 Mt Sinai
2 Columbia
3 NYU
4 UPENN

6-10 better not matter
Declined all Boston interviews... who would want to live there?

I read that thread, and iirc I actually posted in there. The problem that was going on last spring seems to have been resolved mostly at this point. The only issue I had with that situation was the administration's sllllllllllllllooooooooow response to true resident suffering, and I am concerned about this slow response should any future probs arise (cause any programs can face problems like that--it's the RESPONSE to fix the probs that's important, I think).

It sounds like there's a new assistant PD who is a true resident advocate, so hopefully things will be better. I was so blown away by the other aspects of the program that Columbia made my top 3 (which I did not anticipate prior to interviewing there).

Boston does indeed blow big chunks. Some sweet programs though.

1. University of Chicago

7. BID
8. Will be unhappy here.
9. Will be really unhappy here.

OldManDave, good to see you here. You helped me out alot on OldPreMeds when I was starting this hellish process. Thanks.
You are most welcome! I am not on SDN as much as I used to be - with residency, husband, father & running OPM (which has grown massively), I just don't have the excess time to devote. But, I am still around...been around here a loooooooong time!

Drop me a PM & update me on how things are going & where you are trying to land.

Seems to be very regional this year, i.e. if you have UAB on your list, you will have UVA, Vandy, UF, etc.

My list spans from the Pacific Northwest to East Coast, with a helping of Midwest.

Yeah, I was all over, too. 1 program in each major city from East to West coasts. No South, though (sorry, I have my own personal reasons for not wanting to be in the South).

Because I can't sleep (due to getting married in about 12 hours) I figured this was the opportune time to post my rank list.

1. Arizona
2. Ohio State
3. Cinci
4. Indiana
5. San Diego
all the rest!

May my week in Hawaii distract me till March 13th!

1. CCF
2. CWRU
3. Indiana U

The remainder (alphabetical order)...
Baystate, Einstein, Henry Ford, UMaryland, UMass, Temple, UMDNJ (Camden), & WVU.

seriously... you guys are so anal about this list and "alphabetical..." CRAP!

I remember looking back on last year's list and seeing how open they are... now everyone's just toooo paranoid 😎

great... most of the the incoming 2006 class have sticks up their
a s s... :meanie:

I concur.

Agreed. It's funny how some think that posting their preference list will affect them in an earth-shattering way if they pursue academics many years later. Oh boy, can't wait to meet my future resident colleagues.

Why are you guys being so judgemental? imo rank lists are confidential info to begin with (people aren't as anonymous as you might think on here, maybe last year's class didn't realize this.I didn't realize it until this year myself.) Anyway, why do you guys want to know people's rank lists so bad?

thank you for saying it. I agree it's none of my business what everyone else's rank order is - but if you want it to be a secret - just don't post. The alphabetical order thing is kind of anal and a total cop out.
