sure, fine. if you wanna do that, that's ok. it doesn't matter though, you are going to try your best on all your tests so...you know. whatever.
 
It depends on the specialty, but generally it goes Step 1 => Clinicals > Step 2
 
Connections > everything else

Connections > Step 1 = Clinical grades (of which shelf is a component, but not the ONLY component > Step 2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Numerical shelf score
 
Most people don't have their Step 2 scores back when they apply so the only filter available to the PDs is step 1. Therefore, to get your foot in the door, Step 1 is definitely the most important.

Step 1 > 3rd year grades > Step 2
