A big :sendoff::slap::bullcrap::beat: to the medical school that rejected by boyfriend. He has 10 left, but this particular school is known for it's low acceptance GPA/MCAT score. He has an awesome GPA and MCAT score, so I think he will be okay with this one rejection.:xf:

My teeth were killing me a few weeks ago and it turned out to be caused by a sinus infection. It sucks, I'm sorry🙁.

Teeth pain is the WORST pain ever. Devyn, I hope you can find something to help. Total guess here, but you may have really sensitive teeth and damaged your enamel with the whitening? What product did you use? I know some people have severe sensitivity to peroxide products.

Yeah it is horrible.... 🙁 I got my teeth zoom whitened as I got a groupon for it.... I really didn't even need it just figured hey why not who doesn't want whiter teeth... stupid stupid stupid.... I am really wondering if my teeth are damaged as I don't think this type of pain is normal at all, so I am thinking a trip to the dentist here will have to be in order quite soon as I am in some major pain and my tongue is getting the brunt of it.
 
When I had whitening sensitivity(from peroxide though), using a fluoride rinse helped tremendously! I highly recommend trying it. 👍
 
Devyn: I'm sorry that you're in pain 🙁 It sucks and has to be one of the worst pains ever. I don't think there's much else you could do other than see the dentist and figure out what's wrong.

WS: Hmmm...you said that you sometimes get cow crap on your face right? I know you wash your face diligently, but there may be something in it that's aggravating your face? Otherwise, maybe try a topical oint. that could help with the itching and bumps.

argh she euth'd it 😡 i dont like the advice and treatment plan her vet gave her (i used to work there and i know first hand the crappy medicine they practice). i am so bummed she didn't at least give the cat a chance! 🙁 life stinks sometimes 🙁

but i made it to grenada! all flights arrived a few minutes early, the airport hassle wasnt too bad, i slept some on the flights (i'm a SUPER anxious flier but no clue why), and i made it to my dorm before 9p! record timing?! 😀

edit: :smack: none of the outlets in my room work *sigh* (this is sort of amusing because 2 of them didnt work last spring, so i requested they fix them this summer, but it appears that they just broke all of them instead)

Oil-based primer is runny, stinky, doesn't coat well, and leaves your hands feeling chalky even after it's washed off. Blah. Also, I have to be up in four hours. But I'm not in bed yet.

and then I realized. Paint. Welp.
 
Four months after applying, my student loan still isn't sorted out, because they screwed up on their end and I had to resend the documents. They changed the stupid process this year. Not happy right now!
 
Arggg. House sitting and have new acne cream that apparently bleaches everything in sight even when it's dry. Totally bleached their dark colored pillow cases. Guess I owe them new ones. Ugh.

I got my first rabies vax this morning and holy cow does my arm hurt. I am too fat to fit into most of my pants, including the new pants that came in the mail today, and I am grouchy about it.

Also, my horse broke some stuff and could have SERIOUSLY injured himself today. I am angry because my horse was a complete *****, even though there's not much I can say to him about it. Mostly I am angry about the situation itself, which he should never have been in, as I was not consulted about changes in his turnout situation and would absolutely not have OK'd the set-up. Insert momma-bear snarling here - my horse and I have been together a long time, we've been through a lot, and anyone who presumes to make decisions about his care without consulting me is gonna have a bad time. 😡

These are all incredibly rant worthy. Especially the bit about your horse. It amazes me when ignorance of others leads so quickly to a situation you have no control over. Glad he's ok. I say go ahead and give him a stern talking to, it will make you feel better even though he's clueless 🙂

I am just feeling really cranky about the lack of communication in relation to his care, and trying not to blow up about it. Especially since I'm the new kid in town.

And yes, he got a little lecture this evening with his gram of bute. I will feel really bad if he's sore tomorrow though!

Ouch! Sounds like things have changed over there. Heck, I used to get phone calls about a horse I didn't even own!

That being said. Your horse. You pay the board. Read 'em the riot act and make sure they know the rules! And If you need any horsey help, let me know.

Thanks a. I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt that this is a miscommunication and am trying to make it clear without being a total b**ch. Ya know? Plus getting a call asking me to "come catch my horse" in the middle of orientation makes me a little extra stressed. We're going to have a little conversation tomorrow afternoon.
 
They can't catch a horse themselves? I'd be super pissed about that phone call! Some horses do not do well with change, they should know that.
 
Just two weeks of work left! I hope I can make it!

Had to tattle on lazy coworker the other day, against the wishes of my coworkers. He can't even collect tissue for DNA extraction correctly. He cross-contaminated one row of samples, collected from the wrong trees because he thought all 96 samples were in a row on his sheet and he collected super old tissue instead of new tissue, which would given lower yields. Collecting a plate of samples takes an hour and a half in the hot sun. Saved the lab $3000 by telling them it should be re-collected.

He also screwed up work for other researcher. He didn't pay close enough attention and we ended up mixing in 3 grape crosses from another researcher with 30 of ours. So all 33 can't be used because we have no way of telling which 3 are cross A and which 27 are cross B.

Lab manager told me in confidence that the PI didn't want to hire me because I "didn't smile enough" in my job interview. (No joke.) They hire this loony toon instead.


I am burnt out from this job. What frustrates me the most is that when I am asked how it is going, people try to convince me that I shouldn't be unhappy! "oh, it's great experience! You're lucky! Stop being negative!"

My "apple and grape geneticist" job is 80% manual labour. I am dirty, smelly, sore, sunburned and tired from all of the field work. We get in trouble for being 5 minutes later going to the field. The only other person with molecular biology experience can't be trusted in the lab at all. Nobody knows how to research a freaking DNA extraction kit properly. It took them 3 months to realize that we don't suck, the kit does. So trying to convince me that my job is awesome ain't going to work. Fire blite, which we don't even get here, has killed off like 500 of our 3000 trees. The pay is $2 less than promised and we are not allowed to report over 35 hours per week.

Last rant of the summer about my job, unless something really bad happens between now and when I leave.

I might not leave. They want to see if they can keep me around for the fall. Better than unemployment I guess.
 
Not really a rant- more of a whine. We have no food in the house. I need to go to the store but it is payday and I know it will be crazy. My husband was going to go with me but he just got called back into work. So now I have to go brave the crowds alone.
 
Whyyyy is the dryer taking so long? I want to get some packing done and change into PJs, but nooooo, the dryer decides it needs 2 hours (estimation, by which I mean I'm completely making up numbers).
 
So at the end of last semester my reproductive physiology professor had offered me a job in her lab for this coming semester. She told me to email her at the beginning of August with my schedule. I did, but also emailed her about the letter of rec she had agreed to write me. I let her know I didn't need one from a professor so wanted to save her the trouble (and obviously I said this very nicely). After 2 weeks I still hadn't gotten an email back so I emailed her again. I finally got an email back from her just saying that the hours I was available for weren't going to work and thanks for my interest. Nothing about not responding to the original email or not getting it, nothing about the LOR, just that. This sounded like a totally sure thing when I talked to her last semester. I don't see how I could have offended her about the LOR...

Now I don't have a job for the school year. The SA clinic wants me to come back, but after everything that's happened I really don't want to. They approached me the other day about coming back and told me the kept me on payroll after they canned me because they knew I'd "want the experience". Not they desperately need help or anything, because I need them. Because yet again, I can't get into vet school without them. I'm thinking of applying to the closest emergency/referral hospital, but it's a bit of a drive and their shifts stink (7 to 4 or 4 to midnight or overnights). So I don't know. Bummed about the lab job though.

My Rant:

I am effing sick of this damn letting agency and their lack of getting this **** fixed in my flat. I called them this afternoon and of course only the receptionist is in the office. :bang:

I flat out told her that if this is not taken care of next week. I am leaving. I need a place to stay that has all of the appliances working and there are plenty of places available around the area. I just don't want to have to move again (dragging everything around from one flat to another on a bus is not fun), especially with school going on but I refuse to pay rent on a place that doesn't have proper working appliances and does not place any importance on getting those things fixed. So frustrated with this right now.

So sorry to hear this DVM... that totally sucks.... sounds like you are going to have to be firm or leave.... would definitely blow to have to move though 🙁
 
Went to the dentist this morning...... there is nothing they can do for my teeth.... I guess that the whitening just severely inflamed my teeth and gums and I have to wait it out. I am a rare case where I get it really bad. I asked if my teeth would fall out or if I had done permanent damage to them and he said no that whitening would not do that.

He put a concentrated fluoride on my lower teeth and gums. Then he wrote me a prescription for a dental anti-inflammatory that I have to take 3 times a day. And he gave me a different type of sensodine then the one I have been using. He says hopefully in a week I will feel better.

After waiting 2 weeks to get Directv (thanks roommate 🙄), they came today to install it, and there is no line of sight for the effing satellite dish 😡😡😡. I was sooooo excited for NFL Sunday Ticket too :cry: :cry:

So now I get to wait even LONGER for regular old cable that costs way more than directv! I'm irrationally pissed and upset right now 😳.
At least the Directv guy was hotter than hell :meanie:

That happened to me a couple weeks ago (minus the hot guy- ours was creepy as hell). We were transferring our directv to our new house and our trees prevented a line of sight. The guy wanted to cut down my favorite tree in our front yard to put a pole there for the satellite. Um no thanks.

I am still waiting for my internet/tv/phone. It is a 4 week wait over here from the time you call and agree to a plan before they can come out and install it. 😡

I will have TV in time for our week break before exams. 😀 (Not sure this is a good thing, may need to convince them to wait to turn it on after exams are over.)

I'm already getting agitated with my roommate because she doesn't give a crap bc she's out of town constantly so she's all "Oh well when I get back next week I'll get it figured out".... SURE! While I sit here the weekend before classes start trying to relax with mind numbing television. Guess I'll just sit in silence. (And no, I DON'T want to read a book 🙄). And I don't want to hear "first world problem" crap from people either 😳

The local library has awesome videos! Especially if you still have VHS player.(well, ours has VHS tapes and DVD, yours may only have DVD)

Yep, mine has both... hence my rant from last night above 🙁. I'm scared to put anymore movies in it :scared:
 
I can not study right now. My mind does not focus well during the middle of the day/early evening. It works best between 1-2AM and again at around 7AM, yes I am one of those people that generally does not sleep in. So annoying. I will probably be up studying at 1-2AM tonight since that is when I study best.

I LOVED Rescue 911 lol and my mom used to record episodes so I could watch them later. When I was moving we found them. Now it's gone :cry:
