My heart is broken. Today I had to drop my fiancé off at the airport so that he could go back to the Army :cry: .. He has 9-14 month deployment coming up.. Words cannot describe the sadness and fear I'm feeling.

Then while cruising through SDN I suddenly remembered I forgot to put something in my explanation statement on the VMCAS about the incomplete I have on my transcript from last semester ( senior project which is still in progress, therefore incomplete until Dec when I graduate)

Don't charge me $50 for an exam if you never even lay a finger on my dog. I have no problem paying for an exam and I think they are necessary and good, so please do one. Especially since it is the first time ever seeing my pet at your clinic. And if you don't, then don't charge me. 😡

Minor rant:

I'm overweight and started working really hard to lose weight with diet and exercise (and getting to a point where I can maintain it is the goal). I was talking to my mom today and it was "well it's great you've lost that much weight but you could lose more if you did this."

Why can't she just be supportive that I am trying to be healthy?

I'm almost laughing at how ridiculous these two weeks have been for my family. I guess deaths really do come in threes
They managed to revive him a few times and they're waiting on the cardiologist right now. Just thought I'd share for the pure ridiculousness.

I had a dream last night about this thread. Someone made ranter stereotypes. I was used as an example along with Emiloo and LIS. It made no sense.

Turns out my $155 student loan payment is only provincial. My federal loan can drive that up as high as $600 per month. Fml. So my loan and my rent will be one pay cheque. And I have a credit line to pay off already.

I would have studied more except my freaking migraines have been flaring up, and I would not be able to function on less than 5 hours of sleep. Studying was not easy this past week, and I have two more exams next week on material that I haven't even started studying yet. I am so sick of having to deal with my freaking head (a handicap that 99% of the vet school population does not have to deal with and could never understand). I am sick of being in pain 24/7, and I am sick of not being able to perform to the best of my ability because I'm constantly in pain. I just want this to end already 🙁

My dean made a good point last week. Your "best" changes. The best you can do this week, month, or year under whatever circumstances you're dealing with, is different than your best the next month. I dropped my A down to a B in molec bio (my final grade) 🙁 because of all the crap I was dealing with, but it was the best I could do that week under the circumstances and I'm ok with that. Your "best" will change based on circumstances, and I give you lots of credit for all the headaches you deal with. Hang in there.

Ahhh, the lightbulb goes off......yep, in some cases the baby is hardest for moms to lose. My youngest brother is your age but nowhere near your maturity. 🙄 I love him but he is only 6 years older than my oldest so that makes it tough. No parent wants to think about their child having sex before marriage. 😱 However, you are taking responsibility for prevention/protection. Perhaps, one day mom will realize how smart you are to be responsible.

Perhaps yours is unique then. My mother couldn't even tolerate a conversation about BC without freaking! 😛 I did say "think" also. Most parents are intelligent enough to realize teenagers/young adults will get carried away. The point is that they be careful and take precautions. I'm not so old that I don't remember what that was like...

Probably a cultural thing, too. In Germany, we're not as strict about stuff like that. Parents let their kids do much more.

Too true! My husband was stationed in Germany during Desert Storm and talked about some of his experiences while he was there. He was only 19/20 YO when he was there.

My mom just got home from Ohio yesterday and took today off to grieve and wrap her head around losing both her parents. Instead she's been at the hospital since 1:30 this morning with my grandpa.

When I asked her why she doesn't call my two uncles (his sons), she said they were out of town. One is in Ohio bc my aunt's mom was just diagnosed with lung cancer and the other is in Michigan because my aunt's father is dying.

My rant isn't much, but I need to find a way to study more, or get the motivation to study. I've already fallen into the cram-purge cycle that I know will not be pretty with viro and bacT next week. A handful of people didn't make it through second semester second year from last year and I'm terrified of being one of them next year

My mom just got home from Ohio yesterday and took today off to grieve and wrap her head around losing both her parents. Instead she's been at the hospital since 1:30 this morning with my grandpa.

When I asked her why she doesn't call my two uncles (his sons), she said they were out of town. One is in Ohio bc my aunt's mom was just diagnosed with lung cancer and the other is in Michigan because my aunt's father is dying.

🙁 That's terrible. So sorry to hear that. My friend's husband hit his head on the counter a few months ago when he was standing up from tying is shoe. He's never been the same since. It's such a shame what a simple little accident can cause. They are now divorced (just months later) because he became physically aggressive toward her and tried to kill himself and her several times. So sad. So sorry your family is going through this. It's so hard seeing our parents hurt and not be able to do anything, isn't it? 🙁

I have a rather mediocre rant but I am frustrated about this... Stupid electrical company here keeps "estimating" my power usage. So that bill for 5 days that was over 600 pounds has now been added to with another estimated bill for over 300 pounds, so now I supposedly owe over 900 pounds in electrical charges over the past 11 weeks, not only that but they told me they cancelled the direct debit that was on my account, apparently they did not because they just automatically took money out of my account... I cancelled the direct debit with the bank and called the power company today. They say there is nothing they can do about the charges yet, we are still waiting on the estimations they are going to make next week after I give them the meter readings... I hate having a huge bill sitting around with my name on it when I know that I don't owe that amount of money, I don't see why they can't drop those charges off the account when they have agreed with me that I do not owe that much money... 😡

I'm blowing this biotch up with updates.
Vet's office called to check on my dog this morning and I nicely mentioned that I was charged for an exam yesterday without the dog ever being touched and they were very good about it. The doctor called me later and apologized 🙂scared🙂. He thanked me for bringing it to his attention because he sometimes falls into the trap of "putting his pen to the checklist and forgetting everything else" He dropped it down to a consultation fee for me and we chatted for a few. Just happy that was all figured out without any hard feelings. 😍
He went to UF a few years ago and said "$50 is a week's worth of groceries, I completely understand!" 😀

Hearing about these accidents with your families hitting their heads makes me very worried about my sister. She's always been mean but the last few months she's been awful. She hit my grandma so hard that a vein popped on her arm. She completely flipped because of some food. We've tried telling my mom that it might have been because of how many concussions she's had and that she should go to a doctor to get it checked, but my mom says we're all overreacting. It's not that bad. She doesn't think that concussions could change a person like that. 🙁

I obviously don't know anything about your sister's case, but it has been a pretty well documented effect in the past recent years. I believe it's called "post concussion syndrome" 🙄

Maybe I'll send her some articles without saying anything. She was physically aggressive towards my brother and grandma, through her meds to the dogs "because they need to die because one of them is my brother's" (my mom's dog now actually) and broke the patio fence, chairs and other stuff. I think something needs to be done.

There will be NO beating yourself over 5 pounds! Especially over three months. Everyone fluctuates within a window. Mine happens to be huge at 8 lbs. And if all that's come back is 5 pounds, you should be beyond proud! Like I said, maintaing is the hardest part. Hence why I've had to attach a number to it... If I ever hit 'x pounds' things need to change (yes, I've been there once before).

My rant: I went to see my mom today and she's a hot stubborn mess. The docs cannot figure out what happened this time. Also, she's been keeping things from her docotors, my stepdad and me which has caused her to develop other issues on top of her chronic health issues. For the love of God, the woman has a bed sore! Then, my poor stepdad only heard what he wanted to hear from one of the docs. It's all such a mess and I wish I could just go and live with them so I could help them out. And to top it all off, the stress off it all and the fact that I ate basically nothing I've got the start of a migraine - my first in months. When I went to buy some o.t.c. meds I learned that Excedrine cannot manufacture anything right now. Really bummed because their migraine formula worked! I bought something else that isn't nearly as effective. Think I'll head to bed so I can try to sleep off the nome with the icepick currently residing behind my eye.

Mine kinda did too. But she pulled the "I don't want you to have sex but if you do come to me and I'll make sure you're safe." I was mortified for the longest time.... Was a great deterrent.
