Just finished my last assignment for the semester so I though "Hey! I can finally play BioShock Infinite now!"
But no. Every time I try to start the game, it freezes. I don't know if it installed wrong or if there's something wrong with my computer, but I feel like I wasted $60.

You are scaring me because I finally tried straight down fringe bangs. They're getting kind of long and I'm afraid to cut them myself, but I'm very tempted. I can't justify a trip to the salon to get them cut.

Haha it certainly was an amusing haircut. The bf and I had to break up because I moved 800 miles away, but I can't imagine the torment that put him through. I was trying to stay positive about it, so the plus side that I found was that when I released my hair from its cage and shook it out, it pretty much looked like a lion's mane
I've had bangs for years and have often trimmed them in between hair cuts. The stylist sometimes grimaced but hey, sometime you gotta do what you gotta do. Look up some youtube videos on trimming bangs, they are surprisingly helpful! I have a pixie cut now so I don't dare put scissors to my hair for fear of completely messing it up
This is such a stupid rant but I really want some junk food (McDonalds or something) but I still have food I have to eat before the semester is done AND I'm trying to be good about what I eat....BUT I "have" to go into town to check my surgery grade anyway 🙄

I have been putting off trying to get government assistance for a long time because I didn't genuinely think I had the absolute need to. I believe assistance is reserved for absolute dire need. During the summer and fall semester I am dropping to 20 hrs/week at work. I just crunched realistic numbers and 😱 omg.
I feel embarrassed asking but I do not receive any help from family.

I looked into it briefly when my husband lost his job and the income requirements were soooooo low (especially without any kids). Obviously this is going to be dependent on your area so I would look into that first. You might be surprised how even in "omg" territory, you may make too much to qualify.
Edited to add: You should absolutely not be embarrassed. It's there for people who need it, when they need. Nothing wrong with that.
While I have not received food stamps, I have utilized the local food shelf when needed.
Can't remember, you are a single mom, yes? It's there for people who need it, and single moms going back to school to better their lives definitely qualify! And you shouldn't feel embarrassed about using it either. When you are in a better situation later down the road, just make sure you try and donate to food shelf and the like. 👍

You bring up a valid point. I did a little preliminary survey to see if I possibly qualify and I do. I remember back when I lived at home and my dad got laid off (stepmom is on disability but only gets like 14k a year...and she absolutely can not work) and we were like $50 away from qualifying. IDK how a household with 2 adults and 2 dependent children are expected to survive on that. Idk how my parents did it. 😕

'tis all good. 😉 I've been thinking of going back to volunteer for Hospice again when/if I have time. I used to stuff backpacks and collect school supplies in the summer. Now that I do not have summers off I had to stop.
This is completely off topic but your avatar (which I assume is your black lab?) is adorable. For some reason today it's really pulling at my heartstrings and making me miss my parent's black lab they had to put down in November. She was bat-**** insane for her entire 14 years of life but we all miss her. 😛
I feel your pain. I went to a woman for a long time because she was nice and my sister went to her. One day, BAM! Mullet! That's right. I had a mullet, as a female adult. I also have red hair, just to pain the picture a little better. This was about 4 years ago.
My best advice is to learn the best way to put your hair up to hide the haircut. For my mullet, a ponytail pretty much just exaggerated my short-bowl-cut front. I ended up using a lot of bobby pins and headbands.
My boyfriend at the time never said he hated it, but never said he liked it. Years later, I talked about the mullet and he sighed with relief and let it all out
Spent nearly an hour trying to style it this morning and no matter what I did it looked like hell. At one point my mom came in to see why I was swearing at the mirror so much. I told her "If I go out in public like this, I'm going to end up on People of Walmart." She took one look at me and burst out laughing. Bad haircut confirmed.
I forsee a lot of hats in my future . . .

We found her in the middle of nowhere on a property in central FL. She is also bat-crap crazy. 😀 But the best dog I have ever had.
This is what she looked like the night we brought her home. That's a cat collar, for size reference. After some de-wormer and a vet visit the next day she pooped out a 4 foot long tape worm....2 of them.
She is the ruler of the house now. 🙄
I am on muscle relaxers from my fall on Tuesday, so I am feeling rather sentimental and mushy as well. 😳

UGH. This accident is turning out to be a clusterfk and I want to cry. Decided to take it all into my own hands to consolidate since companies were calling both of us...talked to other peoples' insurance and apparently the front lady is claiming something completely different happened than my SO's version including injuries and damages to her car. Fortunately there was an officer on scene so hoping his report can verify my SO's claim, plus our insurance companies seem to be nice but Christ on a cracker I do NOT need this in the middle of finals. Now we're talking about lawyers and crap and it's just ASKDJASDHA.

Write down everything, print out everything and the photos, and see if you can get a notary public to notarize that he/she saw the photos and printouts on the date you write on them. Kinda like an affidavit. Getting a notary's signature costs $10 around here, and most credit unions and newspaper offices have them. You'll probably want to find a notary even if you don't do the above, because you might need one during this process. Also, see if you/your SO can talk in person to the officer who was on the scene, to find out what's in the report and ask their advice - he's probably dealt with something like this before.
Also, see if there is an option for mediation rather than lawyers. Mediation is MUCH cheaper.

And unfortunately sometimes the other person too...Besides the police report it would be good if there were any witnesses there who can validate what happened.

Today was my last day of classes for undergrad ever! And I spent it with my head in the toilet because I came down with the stomach flu 🙁 also missing yummy Olive Garden tonight for my friends birthday. Instead my dinner consists of Sierra mist and saltine crackers.

Thanks for the advice everyone. We've already been in contact with a lawyer and had my truck's damages appraised and photographed and I was told they will pay to fix the rear damage. The front isn't bad but apparently the front lady may be wanting her rear end fixed and if my so hit her before the lady behind him did we may also be responsible. It was manageable until front lady started saying something completely different. SO and I are both frustrated but at this point we've done all we can do for now, just waiting on insurance to look at her car and try to muddle out what happens on that end. Just getting the ball in someone else's court has helped the nausea and stress subside for the present. Sigh🙁
