Sometimes siblings just make life way more difficult. Anyway he can wait a few months for you to get things squared away? Find a new place or get a new roomate?

Well then tell him to get his head out his arse and be considerate for once. But really, one thing at once. I too feel like life just keeps kicking me in the balls (metaphorical of course, no balls for me). Pick up from one thing and something else gets you back where you started. Try your best to be proactive about the things you can and ignore the others for the time being, yeah?
 
Oh Abs 🙁. Take a deep breath. And I'm not just saying that. Take a few deep breaths and let yourself relax for a day. Then get up and start kickin butt. That's what I do sometimes. I give myself a day to just have mushy brain, and then get motivated. This is totally your year and you just gotta do what ya gotta do. Use everything negative as motivation!

I'm so sorry Abney. I had an amicable split with my ex from junior year due to distance (he's from the UK) and it took me 8 months to start being relatively normal again. We've been talking more again since I now have a smartphone and can use what's ap again. I'm doing okay with it but I definitely still miss him and there are still feelings there for the both us. If you ever want someone to talk to about it, feel free to pm me.

As for the housing situation, that sucks too. I wish I knew what to tell you to make it better. Are there any other friends or family who you might be able to live with short term until you figure things out? And I agree that he's a poo face. If there is no specific reason that he needs to move out immediately he could at least wait a little while. He definitely should have given more notice.

I'm sorry, Abney 🙁. Sounds like a tough living situation and to be suffering a breakup as well, that's downright crappy. Come join Abbers and me for some drinks and southern comfort food. Hope things start turning around soon for you.
 
This is exactly why I vented here. You guys are so amazing thank you. I guess my brother thought since our lease is up next month he's out. Sucks for me but I'll figure it out 😕 I just wish I had taken out loans to cover those bills. Stupid me. As far as my ex goes. I still love him. Always will. I just have to come to terms with the fact that our split is for the best. Again, thank you. Just having a really bad day and needed some encouragement.
 
JUST applied for some research assistant positions at my school, so that A. they will work with my classes and B. I won't have to commute for my job anymore. These things will make it easier to get in more hours so I can hopefully afford a better place 😳

Aw man. Sorry that I bringing all sorts of self-pity up in the joint but it's looking like I have to put my cat down too. He's been in end stage kidney failure for a while but he's been having seizures the last few days. Just had one. :cry:

Kind of related rant, but I'm not looking forward to the day we have to do this to our dog for his kidney disease. I'm freaking out that he's developing allergies to the K/D because all of a sudden his sides are itchy...I don't recall him ever having allergies before. Also, annoyed because my mom is mixing in small amounts of normal canned food with the K/D to make sure he eats. She apparently doesn't get the concept of restricting his protein intake...And his Urine Protein: Creatine didn't drop as much as wanted for him being on Enalapril for 1.5 months so now he's taking it twice daily.

And my ankle that I twisted back in March hurt while at the gym today. It hasn't given me any issues since probably sometime in June, so I'm kind of annoyed. At least my shoulders didn't bother me to today. It was my first day back after taking a week off because of them and it was brutal.
 
I came here to complain that my new cupcake carrier is not tall enough to accommodate the frosting, but Abney, your problem is serious. I'm so sorry that your brother is a doofus. "Emotional Cheesegrater" is right!

It's 8:11am and I've already had to apologize for a misworded email, made an embarrassing math mistake, and I have a headache I can't do much for because I already took my Metacam for my arthritis. Oh, and we're going to be short staffed at work today. ...and the air conditioner is not working. Awesome.

I was thinking "Aw that's so sad" but then just had to giggle. :laugh:

I feel terrible today. Can barely breathe. Talked to my boss today and while I still need to work all day on weekends (which I didn't wanna lose anyways), we decided that I will only work half day during the week unless I feel that I'm up for more. That makes me feel a bit better.
 
I am in pain!!!!!! I got a groupon for teeth whitening cause I figured why not.... and I went today... I keep getting shooting pains in my teeth - really really bad.... it is horrible.... OUCH!!!!!! Please make it stop..... 🙁

You can get orajel. That's what I have to do. And make sure you use sensodyne for a while. I HATE whitening my teeth. It hurts SOOO bad!

Are your teeth just extra sensitive or are they having random pains?

Might want to call on chubs/nibbler/dds/kahr? or is he still pre-dent?

BF came home sick as a dog last night. I kinda let him sleep through it till the fever broke at about 3am (I was up finishing a sewing commission till 4am) and then I snuck into bed, hoping I'd get lucky and avoid the death plague. I have mild symptoms this morning, plus my uterus hates me and I am at work to boot.

Now I need to finish my commission, finish my workday and avoid checking my e-mail every 5 min to see if SGU has made a decision.

I got sensodyne rapid relief and so far no dice..... I just want the pain to stop

never again will I do that zoom whitening crap

and DVM... I do not want to eat or drink anything
 
This isn't really a rant, but I could totally go for pizza right now.
 
My refrigerator has delusions of being a freezer. The half can of spinach I was going to put in my lasagna literally has a block of ice in it. What.
 
The photographer I booked to shoot the bridal shower I am throwing for one of my best friends just canceled. Like, 8 hours before the shower. I booked her 5 months ago.

OMFG PACKING. :bang: I am moving on Monday. We are moving the boyfriend into his new place tomorrow. The apartment is a wreck, I am uber stressed, and we are not done yet. Currently taking a break to eat, and then go to the barn to (hopefully) ride and meet with the barn manager about my horse's arrangements - he is staying an additional week before he can get picked up. I feel bad for the poor cats - one is in hiding, one is busy chewing on packing tape, one is ignoring us, and the other is desperately trying to get more attention (she's insecure).

I have also had to say goodbye to a TON of people, both family and friends (work and barn), and it is just so exhausting. I was doing really well until I had to say goodbye to my favorite doctor at work yesterday. 🙁 Tomorrow I have to say goodbye to my aunt and uncle, and probably also my grandfather, who is 95 and may not be around next time I come home to visit.

It's all so overwhelming. Try and take it one step at a time and push through. It will all be worth it soon! *hugs*
 
Don't you love finding out that you didn't have to come in to work tonight by arriving to find everything locked up? And the worst part is, I don't have a car. So I have to turn around and bike right back home again. In the dark. Not fun.
 
I have to bike tomorrow morning, too, and it looks like it will be raining again. It's about to storm here again. Always on the weekends when there is no bus, never during the week. Ugh.

And I finally decided to go to the doctor on campus, but they messed up somehting with my ID last year and couldn't take me. So I try to fix it and they sent me back to the health center. Nope. Went to talk to my old job because they still owe me checks. I thought two, but apparently three. At least they're trying to fix it now...

But all of that made me so mad and late that I completely forgot about being supposed to camp a dog for someone today. She ended up leaving the dog at home, but I feel so bad. 🙁

And then the bus seemed like it wouldn't come at all, but eventually it did. And the guy picking up my dog every Friday night had to wait there for me. 🙁

And the bf didn't call like he said he would. 🙁
 
So one or two weeks ago, we had a staff meeting that basically said the vet clinic side spent too much time reading on our down time and the kennel side felt we should be helping them out. I have absolutely no problem with helping them out and will gladly do it and only started reading because the two other techs who had been working there for a while did. So I figured it was okay. And by down time, I mean the few seconds in between appointments or during the time the doctor is doing a 20 min talk on heart worm prevention alone that I don't really need to be in the room for, or during my lunch. I would always go back to our tech room, read like a page, make phone calls, put charges in, or help the other tech with another patient if needed.

So I haven't touched a book since that meeting, not even during my lunch time. Well, today a kennel tech decided the best way to ask us if we could give fluids to a kitten was "If you have time to read a book, you have time to give a cat fluids." Just wow. In the past, they have had no problem asking me for help with vaccinating shelter dogs or giving cats fluids. I even went over on one day and asked if they needed help with something , was told no, only to have another tech go ask and be told that I could start cleaning the cat cages. If I'm offering, tell me to do something!!! If you see that I don't have anything to do, ask me for help!!! I have never worked on the shelter side, so I don't know your system of how things work. I don't want to go over and just start doing things and mess things up. Better yet, give me a list and I'll get done what I can, but I can't constantly be wandering off to help out the shelter when I'm still working in the vet clinic and need to help keep appointments on time since there are usually only two techs working at a time. Half the time, we don't even know we're going to have down time because it's due to an appointment not showing up or rescheduling last minute. It's not like it's planned.

And I'm not saying that I'm guilt free. I see their point, I just don't understand why it's now a problem to ask for help if you need it and why we have to ask in such a b***** way.
