I just got turned down for a dog I applied to adopt. The rejection sucks, of course, but it's worse because I've adopted from this group before, and they let me know how much they appreciated the care I took of that special needs dog.
I think I'm equally mad because they let me apply for this dog when he was not actually available--and he's still on the available dogs page of their website. I know rescues have a rough time of things, but if you're going to charge an application fee, you should be honest about which dogs are actually available!
