Just read this thread and holy ****, Emiloo, they have to be out of their freakin' minds to do that to you! 😱 That is seriously uncalled for...how dare they! But, I would listen to other people on this thread...talk to the financial aid department and take documents with you, especially tax returns. They shouldn't have a case against you if you have legal docs to back up your claim.

And whatever you do, do NOT drop out. Do NOT give up. You've come too far to just stop now. I'll be sending a prayer your way. 🙂

When I tried to file a FL tax return, it wouldn't allow me because I made no income in the state. But I filed a Non-resident NY tax return because I had to. :shrug:
Not even sure FL does tax returns bc we don't pay income tax. I've never done a state one in the past I don't think. Correct me if I'm wrong floridians.

You have to do one if you have certain types of income, but otherwise, no.

But your driver's license, car registration, etc. should all be proof of Florida residency (esp if you can prove that you've had those since before last year), your non-resident tax form for new york would be something I would bring to show them it was temporary. Voter ID, proof of residence, etc.

this pretty much sums up my speechlessness. who is up for sending an angry mob to the financial aid department? (think scene in despicable me where the minions all whip out weapons before gru announces hes stealing the moon)
 
This is a rather minor rant compared to many but I am still really sad about it....

The stove/cooker that was brought in to replace the old one was not working. 🙁

Now, I have to wait for a replacement. They are supposed to bring one tomorrow morning. They said that they will get a key from the landlord so that they can come by while I am at school. I was really looking forward to be able to cook a real meal tonight. 🙁

Rave: The washer is a washer/dryer combo! 😀 😀 😀 😀
 
Update. Admissions officer today pulled a few strings for me and got me an emergency loan to last me for a while. I am starting the petition process tomorrow. :xf:

At least I know the monster is up to date on all her vaccines? At least, I sure hope I didn't miss a vet appointment at some point :laugh:
 
So, after Canada Student Loans told me a few weeks ago (July 30th or so) that they'd gotten my loan agreement and my part of the work was done. "Oh all we have to do now is contact UPEI and they'll electronically confirm your enrollment."

Being suspicous, since this whole process has been a s***storm, I called them today to see how things were going. "Did you get UPEI to send the confirmation of enrollment, because we don't have it." :boom:

NO I DIDN'T, BECAUSE YOU TOLD ME I DIDN'T NEED TO!

So I called UPEI today and had them fax it. This is getting ridiculous. Every time I call them, I get a different answer.

So I just had to fight with Sallie Mae about something similar on Monday (I have obvious luck with financial aid, what can I say 🙄). I tried to proactively defer my loans a while ago since I am enrolled full time and they told me to not worry about it, it's automatic since my school is part of clearinghouse. So I stopped worrying... Until my account went into delinquency a few weeks later 😡
So I called and explained to them what happened and the ***** on the phone just kept explaining that I go to Florida State University. It's all she kept saying. I kept explaining over and over again that FSU is where I attended when I took out my loans, but I need to defer them now since I am currently enrolled in a different school.
***** said I need to fill out a school deferment application. I again explained that I was unable to do it last time because when I clicked on the link, it made me find my school and then told me deferment is automatic with UF and to not do anything else. But whatever *****, just send me the application and I'll do it anyway. Did she send me the application like she said she would? Of course not.

So I went onto the website today to print one out myself and have it filled out just in case, and the damn form expired 3 months ago.

I'm just gonna call and try to talk with someone else this time. ***** obviously had no clue.

More like really bad personal space issues. If I have known someone fora long period of time, it doesn't bother me but if someone I have recently met is trying to hug me, it is not cool. I had a crazy client hug me once, like caught me by surprise and wouldn't let go.... :scared:

My problem is, even if someone does hug me and I don't feel comfortable once it has happened it is kind of pointless to say anything, but in the future I keep a decent distance between myself and them to prevent further incidents. I could never shank someone just for hugging me.

Like I said before, I joke but I can usually tell when someone is uncomfortable so I will give them space. I wouldn't hug you DVMD 🙂
 
There are a VERY few choice people I like to be hugged by. Sometimes I really hate having female friends. Stupid girls love to hug.

What annoys me is when you tell someone you don't like to be touched or hugged and then they do it just to piss you off.... like WTF.... really?! FECK YOU......it is not cool and it is certainly not funny..... you are making me uncomfortable which is why I asked you nicely not to do it in the first place... ugh
 
I just slept through over an hour of four phone alarms going off on five minute intervals each. So well over 50 separate alarms. Obviously I can't use my phone as an alarm clock anymore...

I have a man friend that is way more womanly than I am and he likes to be constantly touched so he likes to constantly touch everyone else. He loves to pet me or sit way too close on the couch. I yell at him regularly. And then tell him he's a woman.

Unwanted attention/hugging etc is always the same... depends on the person it comes from.

If it were some sexy person you were attracted to, I doubt you would be too offended. :laugh:

When I was an undergrad, this older person I worked with used to frequently brush her breasts against me in the office. If I was at all attracted to her I would have been fine with it, but instead I was repulsed.

This whole thing is making me sick just reading what you're going through. Can't imagine how you feel. But hopefully everything will work out just fine and there will be no need to worry!

It's making me sick too lol. Especially since we all know IS tuition was the ONLY reason I chose UF lol. I could have gone to CSU and gotten IS tuition after a year through the program they offered me. Would have DEFINITELY made THAT decision if I knew this was gonna happen. Or I would have chosen UTK, LSU, or OKSU since their OOS tuitions are cheaper then FL (I think).
I am starving from not eating the past two days, but every time I get hungry and try to eat something, my nerves just tell me no. Studying... forget about it. I am trying to overcome it and I guess this is a good test for me to overcome adversity this early on, but seriously? Day 2 this happens???? I am just so far behind (Day 4 now) on studying and I really need to find a way to shovel my energy into that instead. It doesn't help that my classmates constantly ask about it (I know they are trying to show their support so I'm not mad about it), but each time someone brings it up my eyes well up and I can't think about anything else. It's such a huge stress right now. Ugh, sorry for continually venting. I just need to get it out somewhere. 🙁 Thanks for all your support. It's helping keep up my morale more than you know. 😍😍😍

If people are just gonna talk and laugh loudly the whole time, can't they go somewhere else besides the library? 😡

Em, I really hope everything gets worked out with the tuition. Maybe you should tell them they will feel the wrath of SDN if that doesn't happen. 😉
 
I'm starting to get a little sick about money and tuition, but as a Canadian student it is nowhere near as much as you would have to pay, Emiloo! I can't believe you're going through this. It makes me so sick and angry 😡 I hope everything works out :xf:

My rant: I have had two fecking visits in the past three days that have involved extremely dangerous situations (towards me). One boy broke three cases of beer in a fit and tried to throw me at one, and a little girl today tried to ram me with a stroller. What. The. Feck. Who did I piss off to deserve this? And of course, the parents can't calm them down. Mom for the little boy was like "aww, do you want a treat?" I'm like no way in h***. Get your a*(*$# moving. NOW.

Behind in schoolwork already, have a nagging parent, and am stressing myself out to the point I'm in tears. It's minor, but it's fecking with my anxiety and it's only getting worse. And it's barely week one of the semester and I'm already seriously behind.

Back to work, I guess...hopefully I don't cry.

A rant at myself: I've stopped volunteering at the zoo where I was because of class starting next week and was worried about mixing that plus full-time work plus using most of my time off volunteering, but I'm really regretting it now and miss it a lot. Probably going to email and see if I can start again. May regret it when the semester gets super busy (and will probably rant again then), but zoo >>>>> physics.


Also, bunny left half an hour ago. 🙁 Going to a better home where he's going to be super popular and won't have to worry about people moving. It's totally for the best and the plan was never for him to stay with me permanently, but still rather sad.
