:laugh: I just did that today. Was walking around outside between barns with no coat. It was 27 degrees! :soexcited:

It's been so cold lately, that when it hits 25 degrees, everything starts melting and dripping. Instead of at 32 degrees.
 
I cannot wait for my roommate to get out.

I was at work for 10 hours, so puppy was in her 56" round pen with food/water, a small bed, couple toys and her pee pad. The roommate was home alllll day so I figured she'd be fine because he'd let her out/change her pad.

No. I got home just now to THREE piles of crap, she was laying in her bed ON the piles of crap. Her pee pad was soaked(normally there is only 1 maybe two wet spots). He had obviously gone out to eat lunch and had passed right by her TWICE and just left her there to wallow in her crap. And now I have to scrub ground-in-crap paw prints off the hardwood floor.

😡😡
 
I wouldn't expect roommates to do anything for you pets unless you really talk about everything that you would like them to do. It's not their pet, so it isn't their responsibility.

If he said he'd do it, then that's different. But don't trust on anything if it hasn't actually been said.
 
Went to get my haircut today since it was about that time. I styled it for vet school prom so it was still pretty nasty. Then I was told they needed to shampoo it. I about cried, because it was really only my ends that were bad and my scalp had been doing much better since only using baking soda and vinegar. Well I got home and my scalp was already starting to itch. So I jumped in the shower and "rewashed" it with my stuff. It feels so much better now. I'm just sad it got to be so bad and that they made me wash it.

He said he'd change out the pad and play with her(he normally plays with her, I don't have to ask him to do that) when he woke up. Which was about 4 hours before I got home. I don't expect him to clean the floor, but it was obvious he hadn't even opened the pen. I ask him about once a week to do this. He never has to do anything else. Not even clean the house. Ever.
 
Depressing day from so so many aspects that I'm currently baking delicious chocolate chip friends to surround me and washing them and my feelings down with milk. 👎

Well first thing this morning, SO was told today that if this sequestration occurs, he will lose his job. The job that supports us both.
But mostly I'm sad from a diagnosis or three I didn't want today. There is no treatment and I just have to learn to manage the pain. Pain involving constant joint dislocation, cartilage tearing, nerve pinching, lens tearing, and vascular and heart valve problems.. :lame:
And third, I am stressed about school and just need to see my SO already. I can't wait to see him in 2 weeks, but I have 4 finals between now and then 🙄

Cookies and my new Rx should help :xf: 🙂
Edit: Oh and Craigslist missed connections of course 😀

After awesome date night with my man (Die Hard and Red Lobster) I come home to an email saying I didn't get the Hills Jr Rep position. I REALLY wanted it, and kinda needed it for my self esteem. Vet school and I are not getting along right now.

I got my email about not getting scavma rep on the drive down to NAVC, put a bit of a damper on me, too. :/

So my car has been broken and in the meantime I have been using the spare truck. I woke up this morning to go to work and the alarm refuses to disarm. I had to wake up my mom to bum a ride to work. I hate working at 6am.
 
A dear friend is losing his battle with cancer. He was put on at home hospice care and here is the kicker...two days before his 17th birthday. He was diagnosed at 14 and has done one hell of a job fighting. He has been through more chemotherapy than I can count, a bone marrow transplant and had kept a smile through it all. During the last scan we discovered there was tumor wrapped around his aorta. He is in indescribable pain and has been placed on a morphine pump.

I'm at a loss of what to do for him or the family. Saying sorry just doesn't cut it....ugh CANCER SUCKS!! 🙁
 
I am so broke. The bills are just piling up, especially the electricity bill since it's so cold outside and we live in a crappy apartment with baseboard heating. I've been layering up and stocking up on potatoes and rice 🙁

Another good (but creepy) laugh is looking at the "X seeking X" section. In a university town there are a ton of "visiting scholars" looking for co-eds to give them "tours". :laugh:

Was just rejected by my IS school...again. What the hell do they want from me? A-holes.

Looks like I'm going OOS.
 
I have a chest cold. 🙁 I never got anything when that awful cold/influenza/norovirus thing was going around, thank god, but this still sucks. I sound like an 80 year old lifetime smoker with the deep scratchy voice and all the hacking.

Instead of apologizing, just offer to be there for him.
 
When the bf said he wanted us to spend the day together today, I assumed that meant we were going to actually go out and DO something. Instead I've followed him around campus all day and sat twiddling my thumbs waiting for him while he gets his laptop fixed, fills out paperwork for one of his classes, and, of course, spends an absolutely absurd amount of time on Reddit.

I did have plenty of my own stuff to accomplish today, but I pushed it aside because I thought we were going to actually go out and have fun for a change. Instead I'm now irritated and bored out of my mind. 😡

Same thing happened to me. Wisconsin (my IS) rejected me three times. Looks like it is OOS for me too!
 
I really wish my computer was fixed already. I'm sending it to be repaired in the next day or so (waiting for the box their sending me) but it's making it an obnoxious process to apply to jobs/internships for the summer. I was hoping I'd be able to access everything since I recently applied to the Banfield summer program, but they're telling me I no longer have an account...Luckily I found some old ones in emails, but I have to reformat and add things. Don't know why I was so stupid and left my external harddrive at school.
 
Started a new medication last night. It is supposed to help my restless leg syndrome so I can sleep better, but all it did was make my mind run marathons all night. Now I'm exhausted and trying to cram.

I thought the same thing this morning, but you can still see them. You just have to search for the category pages instead of starting with the main page.

Found out tonight that the house I'm renting, sold. New owner is finalizing everything on Friday and NO ONE TOLD US A FRIGGIN THING! I'm more than pissed right now. I think the new owner is planning to rent it out, so I should be fine, BUT STILL. 😡😡😡

Isnt there something in leases that you have a right to do something if they sell the building you're renting without informing you.?

I knew it was up for sale. But he and the real estate agent, nor the person who's buying it, did NOT let me know it had actually sold. My roommate called the landlord today just to let him know he was moving out(doesn't break any lease or anything like that as I am staying), and found out by chance that it was sold.

Hopefully, tomorrow I should find out all the details. I probably won't have to find a new place, as the person buying it has a bunch of rental properties in the city, but it still pisses me off that no one contacted us.

Now quite sick. My temp is 98.4 (pretty normal for me), I am drinking fluids and tea with honey and gargling with salt water and eating good healthy food and resting and I am getting worse by the minute. My throat is on fire and so are my sinuses. Also I just generally feel like poo.

I'm torn between hoping my SO feels as bad as I do (since he gave it to me) and hoping he feels fine so I can ask him to make me tea on command without feeling guilty.

Bleh.

(well actually I hope my SO feels fine because I would never wish him sickness.... mostly)

i'm so used to dealing with dog/cat/horse/cow temperature normals in school, that when i first saw that, i was like OMG you're seriously hypothermic!!! :laugh: glad you are neither febrile nor hypothermic haha (because my next thought was quick emergency resuscitation! calculate shock dose of fluids!) feel better! 🙂
 
friend dropped her phone leaving physics class and her first comment was to check and make the screen was okay. i then was smart enough to comment that i had never dropped my phone and had it crack or anything.
walking in my front door, i dropped my phone and you can see where this is going. yep, screen cracked over the entire right half. good going, self.
