My broken piece of equipment hasn't been ordered yet.

Rude coworker decided to run into me hard and purposefully on my way back to the computer. I've never said or done anything negative to her in the 8 months I've been there. I feel like I'm in junior high and the girls who called me fat are shoving me in the hallways to try to get a rise out of me.

Being on your period is no excuse for invading my personal space, hurting me and not apologizing.

What kind of world would this be if everyone shared this view? I'm not likely to shop there at all now. 👎

Unfortunately not at all surprised. I thought that was already pretty obvious. Their cashiers are actually "models" by title, so that they can select for looks. A friend of mine worked at Hollister and he was a front desk guy. He said the less attractive people that were hired stocked in the back. Pretty sickening.

Also unfortunate that what this guy actually means is "skinny" not "cool" or "good looking".
 
Woke up at 4:15 this morning to one of my dogs vomiting on our bed 👎 ... it was just bile but I stripped the bed at lightning speed to avoid it seeping into our amazing fake down comforter but I wasn't fast enough. But once I got the duvet cover and the inner cover off I found a label saying it could be washed on the delicate cycle, problem solved 👍

He seemed totally fine after he vomited and ate his breakfast without a problem. No idea what got into him 🙄

That's too bad. I loved shopping in the U.S. to buy something from this store when I was a kid. Of course it's now less of a novelty when I can go there in Calgary.

Yeah, really. I was a nerdy girl that liked horses too much. Pretty sure what I wore wouldn't have changed that. :laugh:
 
Thanks for the apartment negotiation tips everyone! I did find one that was in a good location for the right place that will accept the bird, but they are full for this year. The manager put me on the call list for next spring though.

So I think I'm going to go with the one I liked that won't allow him, and just leave him with my grandma for Aug-Jun, then move to the other place next summer. I don't love doing that, but he likes her and it will be good for her to have a pet again (she's 87 and always had pets, but they didn't replace after they lost the last one).

Other perk is that at the place I really liked, I would have had to pay a $250 nonrefundable deposit, a $250 refundable deposit, and $25/mo on him (plus the same for my dog) had they allowed him. The other one I only have to pay $200 initial nonrefundable deposit on my dog and nothing at all for the bird (go figure?)
 
After about two weeks of lovely gorgeous spring weather, the first day my bf and I will be done with work and promised to go lay out in the sun together, it gets all cloudy and will probably be raining by the time we finish our final bits of work. And then go on raining through Saturday. 🙁 Not cool, weather.

Moot point anyway since the mouse was greedy and came back to the same trap, this time baited with peanut butter, and was killed. I felt kind of bad about killing him, until I spent all morning cleaning mouse poo out of my cabinets instead of studying for my pathology final.
 
I am so freaking tired of smelling my co-worker's lunches. Our desks are smack up against each other so it's unavoidable. We get a full hour to be away from our desks to eat lunch and EVERY DAY he gets his food, parks his butt at his desk and munches away. Yesterday it was Dallas BBQ. Today it's spicy empanadas and a bunch of other fried food. He eats stinky chinese at least twice a week. I am at my wits end. :bang:

Haha it does, sometimes. Like right now... I am actually starving because I didn't pack enough to eat for lunch (I eat earlier) and I don't have cash to buy anything. Sooo my own hunger may or may not be adding to my annoyance.

I just spent the last 10 minutes looking up good Chinese places here (thanks to your post about Chinese food 😀 ), and found that it doesn't really exist here. 🙁

How is that even possible?! I am spoiled by living in NYC (where there are ~ 10 chinese places that will deliver to my apt) but even while we were apartment hunting in Ithaca we found a nearby chinese place and grabbed dinner. Decent take-out options should be mandatory for all college towns...

Yeah, apparently we're known for a lack of such deliciousness. You'd think it would be illegal. I mean there are a few really commercial places (Chopstix, Panda Express, Bento), but I mean, I want the good stuff. The best chinese restaurant I've ever been to in the US (the best was in Ireland believe it or not), is a place back home outside of Syracuse. It's THE BEST! And I cannot wait to indulge in two months! 😀

Info please. My sister goes to Syracuse so we go up every now and then so I wouldn't mind stopping by.

I honestly don't remember. It was in Dublin (I think. Our trip was a mess so it all piles into one place in my brain). I do know we saw it packed with Chinese people and said "Let's go there!" 😀
It was very authentic though, not like the American "Chinese food" here.
But China Wong in Liverpool, NY is your good ole crappy American Chinese food done right! 😀 I wouldn't say it's anything special, they have the same menu as anywhere else, but it consistently tastes 20 times better than anywhere else. Their sesame chicken is to die for. The chicken is always really crispy, and the fried rice is just a step above the rest. Not sure how to explain it, they pay attention to the little stuff and the quality of what they serve. Makes all the difference. Damn you all, I want it RIGHT NOW!!!
Oddly enough, right across the street is one of my favorite sushi places (yes, in upstate NY, and I'm from FL, so you know it must be good!) called Ocean Sushi. Sadly they know my fiancé and I a little too well 😳
 
Roc is in the hospital on IV antibiotics.... has pneumonia affecting the left lobe of his lung....they are keeping him overnight for now... took him in this morning

still trying to figure out what is making him overly ataxic - he is usually ataxic, but since yesterday has been beyond ataxic - trouble walking (back legs worse than front).... waiting on bloods..... one thought was phenobarb toxicity, but seeing as his levels were run just like 2 mths back I doubt it.... really worried what could be causing it.....

worried I might be losing him..... :cry:

Enjoying a wonderful day at Busch Gardens with SO and got a call from my gma telling me that my uncle(unrelated to my aunt who was murdered last week) is in the hospital....sigh.

He's got mastoiditis and meningitis. Getting transfered asap to have surgery on his head/ear. He sounds like crap, and apparently what he has going on is serious enough to warrant being put at the top of the surgery list at a big hospital in my area.

I'm just going to sleep until summer semester starts on Monday.

its finals time...

the second my landlord's people finish pouring concrete (bucket by bucket for days and days by hand), the next door neighbors decide it is ideal to remove a forest that sat between the two properties with a backhoe and all the accompanying construction equipment 😡 noisy, annoying, and now i have to see their ugly property and possibly their guard dogs - great :annoyed:
 
In my apartment building there's a small lobby that is open to the public, this is where the mailboxes are. There are signs all over the mailboxes stating to not leave packages in there because they get stolen. You can probably guess where this is going...

Well I ordered some padded bike shorts (because I'm riding in the MS150) and after a week with no notice to come pick up my package from the PO (the usual way of things, finding a postcard in my mailbox telling me to come in), I "tracked my package". It claimed it had been delivered on Saturday.

Contacted the company who told me to contact USPS. Contacted them and they said they'd look into it. Called them again and the manager's response was that the carrier left my package and someone else's in the building "just behind the secure door." I asked how he got in there, and the manager tried to tell me that apartment buildings leave a key for postal workers, and I asked him why they didn't usually bring in the packages if that were the case. I then recalled, and told him, that our building was having some work done and the workers may have propped open the door, and why would that be considered secure if it was propped open? He basically told me to call the police and that it wasn't their problem.

YES IT WAS YOUR PROBLEM! You KNOW that people steal packages that are left out, and yet you did it anyway! Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

To top it off, when I checked my mail after this conversation there was a postcard in my mailbox telling me to pick up a new package from the post office :smack:
 
Destroyed the roof of my mouth with fruit loops. Darnit.

I am so glad someone has my cereal affinity... my husband hates cereal and can't cook so I can't eat it as much as I would like to.

I only have two boxes and they're both Special K. My other favorite right now is the Multigrain Cheerios. I could seriously eat the Family Size box in a sitting.

I can do the same for Frosted Flakes, Rice Krispies, Cap'n Crunch, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Reese Puffs...

Now I want cereal...🙁

i have cereal....and no milk 🙁 ran out of milk earlier this week and although the milk boat came today (you take for granted that you can get milk at any hour of any day in the US!), i had to study all day for anesthesia 🙁

I was never allowed to eat those sugary kids' cereals, so I don't have much interest in them now as an adult. My addiction is Cracklin' Oat Bran. :laugh:
