you can do that?? i wouldnt dream of having something like that shipped to grenada, it would either a)never get here, b)take forever to get here and then c)i'd have to pay a whopping amount on taxes because i'm receiving something from outside the country (all at the discretion of the customs officer of course)

This is the very predicament I'm in. I'm terrified to have it shipped here but idk what else to do 🙁 I don't feel comfortable just blindly assuming it'll fit perfectly and never trying it on before the wedding but at the same time I equally don't feel comfortable having it shipped here. None of my friends have ever had a package lost but I've heard of it happening to other students. I may see if any classmates are having relatives or friends come visit them here and I'll have it shipped to their house and then then they can bring it in their luggage for me. Actually yeah...that sounds like the safest option lol

My current rant is that I'm trying to schedule a couples massage for my boyfriend and I for when I come home, and was hoping for it to be the day before a half marathon we're running. I am having all sorts of problems. Really kicking myself for not reading the fine print before I bought the stupid thing. And I freaking hate online schedulers. I wanted to just call and talk to someone but of course I've already left campus for the day and I can't call the US from my phone without being charged ridiculous amounts. According to their online scheduling site, there are only two massage "practitioners" available for this and one of them doesn't do massages on Saturdays or after 4:30PM on weekdays WTF are people (like my SO) who have 9-5s supposed to do?? Ugh. So ticked off. I was just trying to do something nice and it looks like I'm going to be losing money on this...the groupon expires before I'll be home again and I can't return it.

Disclaimer - My rants are trivial.

My laptop has a virus and is on it's last legs.. come on tax refund.

I am sorely losing motivation to do any sort of homework. 5 more weeks til classes end, and 8 weeks until I move out of state and I am having such difficulty thinking about studying. Just starting Game of Thrones isn't helping but still.. GAH.

So I've been trying to find a home for this my foster dog with no help from a rescue. I had a wonderful conversation with a lady and everything said this is going to be a great home. She invited me out to see her place ect. ect. I was impressed she suggested it. Well it isnt at all what I was under the impression of. I like the lady but the area and the place where she lives leaves a lot to be desired. However I will say the place is clean. Run down but clean. I left the dog for a week trial but I really don't think I can leave her there after that.

The dog desperately needs to not be here anymore my cats are loosing their minds but I don't want the dog to be in danger. I have an anatomy exam tomorrow and I'm so flustered I can barely concentrate.

Also I am ridiculously home sick. Which is silly because home is 30mins south of here and I was there over the holidays. But recently I just want my mom and dad. I feel like spontaneously crying all the time.

Having the same problem somewhat. I wasn't nearly as excited for my trip home at Christmas as I am for my trip home in May. Missing my parents & my brother, missing my dog and the rest of my cats, missing my backyard...

I know all in all I have been dealt a great hand in life and I am thankful, but sometimes I just need to Rant!
1. Roommates are driving me insane! Always leaving the oven on, not shutting the front door and I spent 2 hours today doing dishes that were not mine because I have been boycotting doing theirs, but I couldn't stand it any longer. etc etc...
2. Anxiously waiting for sometime after April 15th to hear from a wait list, and while I do want to be offered a position, It will make for an EXTREMELY difficult decision for many reasons.
3. Found out it's $1000 to fix my car's silly problem. Now, if it were a problem with the engine or something this would be expected but it's just the silly theft or "passkey" system that thinks I am trying to hot wire my car for some reason and won't let me start it for 10-30 minutes a few times a week, and after leaving the key in the ignition 10-30 minutes, I can then start my car. I get that parts and labor are expensive, but this is just annoying. So I either deal with this very unpredictable inconvenience or pay the $1000, or option 3: follow a very sketchy you tube video on how to disable the whole passkey system haha!
4. Worst by far, my 12 year old Aussie had a type of soft tissue sarcoma (hemangiopericytoma) on his left front paw 8 months ago, we found out this was a regrowth through medical records (I adopted him when he was 10). Since it was on his toe we were able to amputate the digit and cure him, however tonight I have found a mass on his other paw that looks eerily similar and it is freaking me out. Of course this could be anything and I'm hoping it's nothing major but I am very worried, I will bring him in tomorrow to have it checked out.

My roommate knocked my computer over at some point and the hard drive went kaput, so my SO and I frankenstein monster'd a working one with my old comp's HD. However, I now have like... none of my notes from the last semester and all of my programs and such are old and need to be updated. Also slept in (I got into town close to 3am...) and missed a class where they took attendance (grr).

I have a final tomorrow and a meeting this evening, and I think everything is really just going to be a bit of a mess until, like, next Thursday. Conference was totally worth it, but I'm now baby-bunny-level stressy about everything, ah.

For my own comparatively unimportant rant:

My boyfriend was working on his truck yesterday, and a black lab ran up to him and bit him on the arm. He felt bad for the owner (who was just sort of dragging along behind on the leash) and didn't take down her info, assuming that since he was wearing long sleeves, there was no broken skin. He went inside to check and was surprised to find the skin broken in 2-3 places. Of course, the dog owner was long gone when he came back out to take her info.

Dog owners. If your dog doesn't like strangers, MUZZLE THE DAMN DOG. Who cares how it makes you look, as long as your dog isn't running around BITING people for no reason.

I need to rant about how frustrated I am that I don't know if I've been accepted or not, to my-only-choice-left-school-for-this-application-cycle! I've been rejected everywhere else I applied this year.. Tuskegee is my last hope and I am trying to remain positive, but... They're dragging their feet, and unfortunately they are an exception to the April 15 rule. Some of last year's applicants didn't hear back until May-ish. One didn't hear until 2 days before classes started (I guess she was wait-listed..) and I don't want to be that person! I want to know soon so I can plan. I don't like last minute happenings..

I thought I was for sure on track to graduate, but now it looks like I've taken one too many transfer/co-enrolled classes, and might be either 1 or 5 "in-residence" credits short of graduating. That means taking two extra classes this term. I don't have time for that on top of my current classes, and I'm so burnt out right now that I really need this term to not be crazy. And I don't know if I can register two weeks late.

And, if I don't either graduate at the end of this term or take a couple extra prerequisites this term, I'll probably get un-accepted from vet school. I was going to double check all this last week (the beginning of term), but my cat passed away and I was upset and disorganized for the rest of the week so I didn't get all that done. I did double check, but I guess I wasn't thinking very well and somehow thought I had more than enough in-residence credits.

Oh, and my school just changed who handles the pre-vet advising. I hope they'll still let me talk to the former advisor (who still handles every pre-medical/dental/whatever program except pre-vet for some reason) who might be more willing to help me petition something if necessary. I'm going to be so mad if I get un-accepted to vet school not because I'm unqualified for my degree, but because I took the exact same classes from another four-year university. And because I apparently can't add up credits.

Not sure on Oregon, but for most schools you don't need to graduate in order to enroll in vet school. I never got my undergrad degree, just finished all of my pre-reqs. Obviously double check, but you are probably OK as long as you finish your outstanding pre-reqs by their summer deadline.

Yeah, most schools only require prereqs, like Trilt said. Unless some of the classes you took from other universities were pre-reqs. But even then, the vet school already accepted those credits, so you should be fine. Just email the school and ask. Tell them your situation. If you really want a bachelor's degree, then finish the non-vet classes over the summer

As long as you have all the pre-requisites, you can't be up accepted to vet school.. You don't need a degree, just need to have completed the required courses.

It's always worth it to talk to advisor at your school. They can sometimes make things work for you that aren't technically allowed, if you ask nicely. And are persistent. And perhaps start to get a bit annoying.

Haha, that's exactly what I've been doing today. My advisor gave me a petition form, and she said she would write a strong statement in support of my petition. She can't guarantee it will be accepted, but it might be. I did figure out it was for sure that one physics class that I did not intend to transfer that caused a problem. I guess I'm still technically co-enrolled, so they automatically transferred it without me filling out a request. I still need to register for a couple electives just in case the petition is rejected, so I'm off to ask nicely to be allowed to register late. And then catch up on two weeks of material.

If it gives you any more hope, a similar thing happened to me during my undergrad where I thought Ochem was offered in a certain semester and it ended up not being, so I petitioned to join the class 2 weeks late. It is doable!!

Aha! I found another petition form for this, in case the special registration form gets rejected. Maybe my school will see my stack of petitions, forms, and statements, and let me graduate just to make it stop.🤣 Thanks!

Edit: Yay, I made some improvement. I'm now only 3 credits short, instead of 5. Hopefully I'll be able to track down another professor tomorrow, but at least a petition to waive a 3-credit deficiency is more likely to be accepted than a 5-credit one. I'm less than one regular class short now!
