I think I'm going to live, but that's basically why I wasn't in class today. I got home this morning after my alarm goes off, not having gone to bed yet! Thanks for the good wishes, and yeah... see you tomorrow..... :s

"Okay. I'm going to reset your modem. Please make sure all the connections are firmly connected."

I mean I kind of get why they'd try resetting it themselves but also this is annoying.

I mean, he may not have read your message at all since his reply to “okay” was “yes” 🤣
 
So I make an appointment for the internet guy to come out. My internet actually has come back on at this point but since I had it drop twice this weekend for siginificant periods of time I still want to keep the appt and have things looked at. So I wake up earlier than I normally would since the only appointment window I could get today was 10 to 12.

The guy shows up. I get a call and a text that he's arrived. I look outside and the van is sitting on the street. I open my door, walk outside onto the porch and he continues sitting in his van. He sits in his van for 15 minutes and then drives off. I then get a call that they're "sorry to have missed me". So now I'm pretty ticked off because are you kidding me, I was home the whole time and I sat here and watched him show up, sit around, and drive off.

On the positive end, the lady I talked to when I called to complain was very nice. They are sending the tech back and this time he will come to door because they've made sure he knows I am home.

But why did he never come to the door in the first place? Why would you just assume that I'm not here when you never bothered to approach the door?

Fortunately the guy they sent back was a different guy (could tell bc different van) so I didn't have to pretend to be nice to the jerk who couldn't bother coming to the door.
 
So I was super excited because I finally caved and ordered a coffee bean grinder. It was supposed to be delivered on Monday by UPS. They attempted delivery but wouldn't leave it on my porch so they left a note saying they'd leave it at an access point. Come to find out today that said access point wasn't open or whatever so my package was returned to the sender. Called and ripped UPS a new one for using an unreliable access point, not attempting a redelivery and that I never want my packages delivered there again since it's not even open when it's supposed to be. And since UPS did that, it's considered a refusal so when I called Google Express to have it reshipped they can't and I have to reorder it completely. They are at least refunding me my money now and giving me back the coupon I used to order it but I am sooo mad. I know it's trivial but I was looking forward to this and this was just a fricken hassle.
 
My heart horse mare appears to have septic peritonitis. With no clear understanding as to why.

I just put down one of my ponies a couple weeks ago and this mare is incredibly special to me (had her for 13 years and counting, showed her up through the Grand Prix jumpers, and now she's retired at my parents' farm), really hoping she pulls through... 2019 is off to a rough start 😢

Also salty that my orgo prof said the grades would be in yesterday or this morning at the latest and they’re still not in

My sister and her husband and six month old were going to come visit this weekend but her son has a cold. I love them but I wasn't comfortable exposing my 3 week old so they are rescheduling. Just sucks because I was looking forward to the visit.

Also lack of sleep is taking its toll.

I feel this 100000% My baby turned 1 today and I still am not sleeping like I used to
 
About 50% of the time, the TV audio sounds like someone constantly tapping their larynx as they talk.
Tonight is one of those nights. :yeahright:

So the bad news: they opened her up for an exploratory and found a large intestinal mass and an ovarian mass. But I put the good news first because they didn't think they'd be able to resect the intestinal one and they did (and sent me gnarly pics of it), so I'm hoping she's going to keep rallying and beating the odds.

My work week started today and then I fly across the country on Tuesday.
I took a nice cocktail of mucinex and nyquil and I’m praying that I wake up feeling better.

Please dear god no I don’t want to be sick.

I’m out of NyQuil
I just have gross ass orange flavoured DayQuil (why orange flavoured you monsters??!!!!???!?) which got me through work today.
But no NyQuil.
Fml.

Protip: NyQuil is usually just DayQuil with some Benadryl (or another 1st gen antihistamine) mixed in. Sometimes it also has a cough suppressant.
Also my self care professors always say you're better off taking the individual products that you need when you're sick (e.g. guaifenesin for gunky coughs, dextromethorphan for dry coughs, apap or ibuprofen for headache/fever, etc.) but I also totally understand when you're sick and you're just like "gimme something to make it better"
 
My 50 lb dog busted into the food bag when I was cleaning out Apple’s cage and ate like 5-7 cups of food, straight from the bag.

I’m really upset, but she keeps giving me that look like “we both know you regularly eat family sized potato chips straight from the bag... so who’s really at fault here?”

Also yeah I’m just gonna day my DayQuil instead.
But the berry flavor doesnt make me want to vom quote as violently as the Orange flavor. And also I quite enjoy that sweet sweet antihistamine sleep.
