However, if that speed is 30mph in a 70 with your hazards on... then maybe the left lane isn't for you.

Or maybe you shouldn't be driving on the road that is 70mph, particularly in the city. Kind of like not going to work if you're sick. Theres a point where you're a danger to the people around you

Okay, okay, okay. What is the running list of all the schools who use vet med parking lots for game days and which ones do not let vet med students use their own damn parking lot? And how much do these passes cost these days?
- Illinois, can use with Id
- Tennessee, cannot use, $400
- Florida,
- Ohio
Pass costs $140 for the far lot or $800 something for the hospital lot per year

Actually I just checked the parking website and now it's $900 for the student pass apparently... diabolical. I think I'll be walking from the far lot for the next 2 years
I know we had a deal worked out for a flat rate of $720 for a few years (not sure when that rate ends). That's insane if that's what it'll jump to

Being sick while pregnant is no joke. Super sore from the 24 hours of violent sneezing that went along with this bug.

Also while I've been super lucky to avoid any significant nausea thus far, apparently anal glands are completely out of the question now. I was never a huge fan of expressing them, but I heaved for a solid 10 minutes after doing my dog's yesterday. Luckily I did not actually hurl, but it was kinda funny to be clinging to our toilet and my dog sitting next to me looking quite concerned about what had just happened to both of us lol.

I’m sooo sorry. I had a cold a few weeks ago and I was MISERABLE. Also sneezing makes me have Braxton hicks now 💀

then there’s the schools that force students to pay every day so it’s easily over 1k for a year’s fee
what vet schools do this? This is def true for a lot of undergrad-level students (the underlings) but often grad students are eligible for parking permits at universities??

i fear i took thanksgiving break too seriously and did not study a single thing, and now i'm facing the consequences with my first final being next week....

I get enough work at work to satisfy me…the minute any vet-related thing shows up in my feed it’s an immediate skip for me. Not something I want in my down time.
Things I avoid on the internet (with a few exceptions like this place) for my inner peace:
> veterinary internet
> horse internet
> horse veterinary internet

I’ve never followed her, but it’s weird to me how popular she is when she routinely craps on vet techs
Yeah, and she made a video featuring a slur (the R word) a couple months back that did not land. Think it got deleted but I know there was chatter about it on Reddit. Believe she got some real backlash. She just seems very unprofessional to me, I do follow some doctors (more so human medicine/epidemiologists TBH) but I appreciate the ones who keep things professional. Too much weird stuff and I’m out, that’s what I follow the weird TikTok creators for I don’t need it from the doctors too 🤣🤣

Truth! Funny thing is that I avoid veterinary internet 1000x more now that I’m actually in vet school. I’m sure this is not a unique phenomenon 🤣

I think it would be cool to create a Substack or something aimed at client communication on the "why" behind a lot of things, nebulous and specific. Like, "Why does my doctor want X test for my pet?" And "How does accreditation work?"

But then I remember that I don't want any sort of influencer vibe. Even if it's for a more nerdy subset of people that actually use Substack for politics takes. Like me.

Overall, I've become very anti-social media over the last year or so. And influencers in general I don't think perform a net positive overall as a group. Granted. They're likely to become obsolete once the AI bubble bursts and the survivors crawl from the wreckage to change everything we know

Also. Some influencers don't have a good production set up. I was listening to the podcast the Emily King crew had. It wasn't well produced overall. I get it; it's expensive and time consuming. But I couldn't deal with the format and production value before un-following on spotify.

The call to make a nice substack is tantalizing….maybe it’s because they remind me of the days of yore where the internet was fun and people had blogs.

But I agree with you. The influencers now just remind me of:
