For those who read RR for Path...did you guys memorize every word of this monstrosity, or just get the main points. I know that this book is supposed to be mofo-ing vital to Step I success, but I'm having trouble wrapping my head around every single detail.

main points son.

i just annotate on the margins and make sure i read thru blue notes.

Ditto. The thing that makes RR so awesome is the way it harps pathophys, esp disease mechanisms. The differentials for each condition are also awesome. Knowing the general mechanisms of every disease and comparing/contrasting similar conditions really helps for Step.

I just "read" a lot of the details and most of them stuck, didn't pound the minutiae.

Sweet, that makes life a bit less stressful. I was sitting here trying to drill every minute detail into my abnormally small brain. Thanks for the input guys.

Captopril...give Losartan if Bradykinin induced cough is disrupting patient's quality of life. Sorry, personal refresher before the big day this week 😉

I agree that it is almost impossible to sit there and try to memorize the book. I also found it difficult to just read the book passively so I ended up using FA as a guide and every topic I hit in FA, I read the parts that overlapped in RR and annotated the blue margin notes and whatever was missing into FA. For those sections that were completely absent from FA and I thought was important, I added into FA. I had read most of the book during 2nd year too and listened to his audio. The book would not have been as useful to me if I could not hear Goljan's voice in my head as I read it. It reads really quickly b/c of its bulletted format so one might falsely think they are retaining info when in actuality not much is staying.
