ratemyprof

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Most of them have an overall between 2 and 3.5, easiness between 2 and 3.

Very few of my profs had easiness levels above 3.0, likely cause they're science courses.

You're just curious I assume? Looking at my bio and chem professors, overall scores are: 2.4, 3.9, 4.4, 3.9, and 3.6.

Damn that's high...

Mine this past semester were all around 2.5 if I remember correctly. Ranging from comments along the lines of "IMPOSSIBLY HARD DROP NOW" to "Easiest class I've taken, and I've been here 3 years, great professor". It's pretty unreliable since usually only the people that really like/hate the teacher post, at least for my school.

Usually I just ask the upperclassmen, friends, or acquaintances in my current classes now which teacher they took for the given class and what they thought of him/her. Usually those are the ones that actually put in the effort to pull at least a B, and are the ones willing to let me borrow/take pics of their old quizzes/tests so I can get a reference point of what to expect.

i just graduated, but i looked up my p-chem teacher. 3.8 overall and 2.3 on easiness, but it was mostly gen chem reviews

For spring term science courses:

Easiness: 2.7, 2.6, 2.4

Overall: 3.8, 4.3, 3.1

Doesn't really mean anything. Although I did look up two of the professors on RMP before I took the classes. :meanie:

For freshman year: 2.7, 2.9, 2.7, 2.0

Mine have mostly been between 1-2.5. Then again, a significant number of my most difficult professors haven't been on there because the class size is so much smaller. You're far more likely to have a ratemyprof on the guy that has a lecture of 100+

Between 1.3 and 2.5, all in biomedical engineering.

Ha. As a mechanical engineer, I have taken all my departmental electives in biomedical because they are the easiest. They are a lot more interesting but still easier. Maybe that's just at my school though.

Easiness: 1.7, 1.8, 2.0, 2.3, 2.6, 3.0, 3.0

Overall: 2.5, 3.6, 4.5, 4.7, 2.8, 4.0, 5.0

I think I would agree with these ratings of my professors over the years

Just an fyi--we check those sites sometimes, so be careful with what you write if you intend on asking for a letter of recommendation (especially if the comment is something that indentified you)...

😱

Seriously? I think I may have wrote some negative comments back in my first semester. Don't think that they can be used to identify me though.

Every science professor in my university has below a 3. Every science professor at my CC is ABOVE a 3 LOL.

Did you really think professors don't read those? Majority of the professors I know openly admits to reading them when I tell them the main reason I picked them was cause of their ratings lol. They like to use it as a self evaluation(the good ones at least).

I mostly am interested in what comments people say as a professor instead of the number rating. If a professor just has numerical ratings without comments to back it up it is useless to me.

Someone's "3-4" may be another person's "2-3".

I know profs read them (pretty obvious, as it's a very popular site). I was responding to the user who said his Adcom reads them, which surprised me.
