I read on the premed forums that the Rate of a reaction is affected by pressure? Can someone explain this
 
wouldn't it be if you increase pressure, then your volume would decrease, so under high pressure and small volume there's going to be more fruitful collisions between molecules.

Hence, reaction rate would increase.

I have a feeling there's an exception to this logic tho... :meanie: hope not
 
If the volume does not change then increasing pressure would increase the Temperature which does increase reaction rate.
