That's awesome, Lissa! I'm so jealous. I really need some book money again sometime.

In the process of filling in addresses to request transcripts from my undergrad:

Transcript Order Summary
7 Official copies- no charge
Total transcript costs: $0.00

😍 my undergrad.

May end up not applying to one or two of those, but at that price, eh, I have three months to decide.

Remember this feeling when you have to pay for 3 of your GREs at $28 a pop 🙄. I loved my undergard for the same reason. 12 transcripts - $0 😀

On the other hand, the school where I'm going to have to submit each transcript twice is $8 a transcript, so. And yeah, GRE fees make me sad. Not to mention, I am never going to add up the VMCAS cost plus all the supplemental fees. Just don't need to think too much about how much that is in total until I absolutely need to.

1. Picking up my new (to me) car tomorrow!
2. Foster dog's new family is picking him up tomorrow!

Thank you! I'm always so nervous when a foster goes home but I hope all will be well. His people are very nice and he has a brother-dog about the same size.
It's a 2007 Honda Fit. Former owner was a mechanic so he did all kinds of aftermarket stuff to it... so fancy! But then he had a baby and the carseat didn't fit in the backseat so it's mine now!

I got mine cut a few weeks ago before I left for Ireland and donated to Locks of Love, too. It's gonna be fun to get back to school and mess with everyone what with suddenly having short hair. :meanie:

Press release comes out tomorrow!! 😍😍

Not gonna link it, though. 😉 Value my anonymity and I look even fatter than I already am in the picture. 🙄 People should know not to photo fat people from the profile view.

Still so excited!!! 😍😍😍😍

Learned what pus is made of today!! The vet I shadow explained it all to me and then showed it to me under the microscope. It came off the rear end of a goat, so that was cool too! I also, got to hands on assist in a gastropexy on a Great Dane puppy. Today was a good day! 👍

Oh, and pus is....."Purulent or suppurative exudate consists of plasma with both active and dead neutrophils, fibrinogen, and necrotic parenchymal cells. This kind of exudate is consistent with more severe infections, and is commonly referred to as pus."-Wikipedia Definition

I just found out that I will only have to pay 75% of the tuition costs when I go back to finish my prereqs, because I work at my University now!! :soexcited:

I am planning on starting Spring '13/Fall '13. :biglove::woot:

E: A pig farm I worked at thought I was suuuuper strange because I enjoyed lancing abscesses. Wasn't long before they would call me over to the other side of the barn and give me a list of pigs to go lance! There's just something so satisfying about seeing that ooze out, or come gushing out! And it relieves the animal, so win-win!

Wahoo!!!!
Just got a call saying I've been awarded the scholarship that I was complaining about writing essays for a couple months ago.

Awesome news! Congrats, you deserve it!

It's a cinderalla story... from denied to scholarship

I feel like I should get a percentage since I helped try to talk you into it! Congratulations!

Yay!!! Congrats!! Any amount taken off the bill is an awesome feeling!😀

Thanks everyone!! It's not a whole lot, but every little bit helps
Haha, I've had a few of those Cinderella story moments this year. It was kind of funny when she called. We talked a little bit and she said how she had been talking to her friend/neighbor who is a vet in my area about the amount of debt and I was just like "Oh, I have shadowed a colleague at his practice a few times and actually know his son." I only know his son cause we drunkenly hooked up a bit a couple weeks ago.

I thought it was hilarious that she brought up that vet. His son is super nice though and pretty easy on the eyes, so I'm totally alright with it.

Maybe I laughed a little too hard bc I've been in a similar situation and it just makes you want to say "wanna know what's funny?" but you just hold it back to be professional 😳.

Here's a similar funny story...
Broke up with my BF of 4 years in college (not my same BF now), decided I needed some action, hooked up with a guy (who is still the best sex of my life - we ended up dating for 2 years, I'm pretty sure it was mainly for the sex for both of us 😉), and found out a week later his last name was the same as mine!!! 😱
We compared family trees all the way back to hagfish practically 🙄 and then... went at it for 2 years once it was all clear 😀. Just hearing someone say "Travis" is still

Hahahahahahahahahahaha. My mom saw me smirking and just asked "what's so funny?" We had to keep it pretty PG-13 unfortunately because we were in house with like 12 other people and didn't have one of the bedrooms. Humpf. It's alright though. Seeing the ex in a couple weeks. 😉

Don't ever write the adjective for pus on a medical chart. Seriously, don't.

One of the receptionists I worked with last summer wrote it on our treatment board and when I pulled up the patient notes it was in there at least 4 times. We all had a good laugh at that one.

My first day as a tech I wrote it in the adjective form and the doc read it out loud in the room by accident... he didn't say it the way I meant it. 😳 I was immediately scolded! OOPS!!
