Yeah, I have the "clip-ons" = "gigantic, butt ugly and appears-to-weigh-a-ton" association from my childhood too. The place I went to get my glasses does second pair free. So this way I have snazzy but still mostly respectable glasses for every day, and super snazzy black and pink geometric designed ones for sunglasses. 😍

Yeah, they have come a long way. My place does second pair free too 😀. I don't really even wear my glasses ever, but I know with classes coming up I will need them to see the screens and what not 😎

Jealous!

I would totally go for the transitions lenses that go dark to light and whatnot, but those are what my mother has and they don't work behind a windshield. So she still gets to do butt-ugly clip-ons.

I've been wearing contacts for almost a year and they kind of bug the crap out of me. But I kinda can't stand my glasses. I want lasik but can't afford it. :lame:

I don't wear anything, just squint a little when I need to 😀 but I thought I would get a pair for vet school.

This is me. In fact, I can't actually read my computer screen without my glasses (terribly nearsighted). Glasses let me sit in the back where I'm happiest. And stop me running into things while driving, which makes everyone happy.

:laugh: I can't see more than like three inches without contacts/glasses. Been wearing contacts for almost four years and adore them (though don't tell my optometrist that I don't wear them correctly...)

Definitely want Lasix someday, if I qualify and can afford it...

I hav torrique obliqued astigmatism so that limits my options as far as lenses go. That was what i was told my dx was anyway lol. Supposedly the kind I have are awesome and comfortable but if I look at a screen too long or as SOON as i start getting tired they become unbearable

Seriously though, don't contacts bug the crap outta yer eyes? I've never had my own but tried one on once and it was awful!
 
I don't mind contacts. I couldn't really feel them. However, it's such a fight between me and my eyelids to put them in (and take them out) that it's absolutely not an option for me. I had a lot of eye surgeries and exams as a kid, which meant a lot of drops in my eyes. Usually against my will. Hence my eyes now firmly reject the prospect of anything even possibly getting in my eye. Seriously, I can't even manage eyeliner without tearing up and blinking uncontrollably.
 
I have been in glasses since I was 5 years old. I am absolutely blind without them and have an astigmatism in my left eye. Upgraded to contacts at 14 (finally, I hated wearing glasses - smoggy lenses, nose lines, sunglasses issues aka not doing clip-ons 😉 )

I was *supposed* to get LASIK for my 21st bday because my dads insurance covered $500 per eye and my sister got it done for her 21st. My mom also got hers done in Canada back in the 90s when it wasn't even legal in the US.

However, I ended up not being "allowed" because both my mom and sister have had less than favorable results with really dry eyes, eye sensitivity at night (lights in the road during driving became difficult) and vision has deterioration since (though my moms is probably due to her age). No LASIK for me 🙁 though their situation scared me enough into not wanting it - that and my absolute fear of eyeballs and surgical procedures done to myself (I literally passed out the last time I got my eyes dilated :laugh: )
 
So happy my pups temp is finally dropping...after six days of running a high fever and running every test trying to figure out what it is without luck, he finally seems to be on the mend! So ready to stop the financial bleeding and have my happy-go-lucky "mr. budders" back!

My dog is being put to sleep tomorrow and I'm quite upset. The rave though is that tonight for dinner Mickey is having a bacon wrapped filet. Tomorrow for breakfast before his 7:50 appointment he's having some fancy chocolates from our friend's chocolate shop. I'm doing my best to give him a great last day.

Even though he's not feeling well Mickey finished his whole 5 oz steak and bacon cut into small pieces in two minutes 🙄. Typical dog.
