John Barrowman (Arrow/Torchwood/Dr. Who) is filming on our vet school campus for the next couple of weeks. He definitely mooned some of our class today in front of the Small Animal Hospital

Wutttttttt?!?!

That moment when the cat suddenly stops purring, heaves a long sigh and goes into a deep sleep. In your arms. 😍

Last day of my life as a diet-coke-fetching, tied-to-my-desk administrative slave.

I have no words for the huge mix of feelings I feel! :soexcited::scared::biglove::claps:🤣:prof::barf:👍👍👍

It's been a lovely day. Spent the afternoon making holiday cards with some of my classmates for our annual craft fair. Parents came to the island for the weekend to see me, and they brought my almost-beyond-geriatric bulldog to stay with me until Sunday. She's napping on my sofa. We went out to supper tonight at one of my favourite restaurants in Charlottetown and I got curry and chips for the first time in probably over a year. They're back at the hotel now and I'm in my apartment, chilling with a can of Strongbow and watching the Avengers with the dog. Simple pleasures.

Today concludes my last day of Zuku (rave)
Spending tomorrow looking through summaries of a few major topics. Sunday I may do a tiny bit of studying but mostly relaxing.
Monday is NAVLE. The stress is almost over. I'm ready to just take it and get it over with. Failing is no big deal, right? I can come up with another $600 somewhere if necessary, right?

Apparently I lost my donor status and can no longer delete double posts

Balls.

Haven't seen you in a while (both on here and in real life). Hope all is well and you found someone to watch the dogs. If you didn't then let me know, I'm around.

And good luck! It'll be a nice weight to get off your shoulders, for sure.

Might be because I haven't been around all that much... Spent six weeks off campus. My last preceptor was literally 20 miles north of nowhere. No internet, no cell phone service. It was amazing. Except I didn't get much studying done so I've been cramming hardcore the past two weeks.

You could come visit community practice next week if you really want to see me lol
I think I've got the dog situation covered but will definitely text you if they back out for whatever reason!

Same here. So glad to be done studying! I take it on Tuesday, but I'm pretty sure nerves are going to turn me into a pile of goo on Monday. And I've never been good at studying the day before an exam.

Have you taken any of the official assessment exams from the actual NAVLE? Its 50$ for 200 questions (old recycled questions) and was well worth it to know what the questions look like and get an idea of where I stand.

Yeah, I did one of those last weekend. According to them, I should pass, so fingers crossed for no surprises! Good luck on Tuesday!

Of our 66 person first year class, 40 of us all went out to a hockey game together last night. And the majority also went out to the bar together afterwards. I love being part of such an awesome group. 😀

Also, the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie is now on Netflix. There goes my Saturday.

I won at Turkey Bingo! And not just a whole turkey! I won a "turkey dinner" and thought it was just a plate of Thanksgiving food from the local grocery deli. Ummm, nope. It's the whole turkey PLUS bag of potatoes, gravy, stuffing, cranberries, buns, green bean casserole and a pumpkin pie and something else I can't remember. Holy crap!

Is this stuff all cooked too? Or is the casserole just pre-assembled?

Not cooked. All ingredients needed, though.

That's pretty awesome!

I got a bit judgy at the 'gravy' part - alls I need fo' gravy is flour and the turkey, you keep yo' packet. Seriously, packet brown gravy is so salty and gross. Lol.

And there better have been sweet potatoes in that mix of things, 'cause duh. 😉

I agree! I'm not a packet gravy fan. Give me the brownings, flour and water any day! No sweet potatoes. 🙁

Though these are both egregious oversights on their part, they are easily rectified by a) buying sweet potatoes, brown sugar, and marshmallows, and b) throwing the gravy mix in the back of your cabinets to be forgotten about until you move.

I have a few things back there from previous roomie that I will never touch. I think I'll make a trip to the local food shelf, haha.

Eww, ruin good sweet potatoes with brown sugar and marshmallows? Never! Little butter, some salt & pepper. Yum!

Naw, you gotta do it up big on TG. Maybe even some chopped pecans...

Acorn squash. Cut in half, put in pan cut side down with 1/2 inch of water. Bake until soft. Mash it all up with some butter and a splash of milk if you like, put little cocktail weenies on top and bake a little longer. *making me hungry*

I make a killer sweet potato pie. You put nutmeg and brown sugar for the filling and I make a ginger cookie crust with some extra cinnamon for good measure.

It's a little spice-heavy but it's like fall in your mouth. You can top it with marshmallows and pecans if you want.

My rave is that I got cookbooks for my birthday from my aunt. It's more than three months belated, so it was like getting a present for being awesome. x3

I coloured my hair almost 6 weeks ago.....and anyone that has dyed their hair red knows that it's normally crap for lasting any amount of time. I was a natural copper-type redhead when I was younger and the brown that it faded into was just not a good colour....so I was blonde for a really long time.

Anyway, dyed my hair back closer to what it was with just a $10 box of hair dye and I'm rather impressed that the colour is still there....It lasted 2 weeks when I got it professionally done once.

The box says 8 weeks, so I hope things can keep going well! I love not spending ridiculous amounts of money on colouring! :woot:

Took the NAVLE. So glad to be done. And in a weird way, thank you Murphy for giving me a sick child on test day so I had far more important things to think about than nerves.

Picked out my lectures, wet labs, clinical conferences and tours I want to do for the SCVMA Symposium at FVM in January. I'm stoked now! Just hope I get in the wet labs and tours I want.
