I definitely see quite a few of those. I did one several years ago on my dog (my avatar). He came back as Shar-pei, Weim and Keeshond as his top three, with Doberman, Newfie, Wired haired doxie, Sheltie and Mexican Hairless at lower levels. Tempted to redo it now and see if it comes back with something different cause I don't believe his initial results. For additional reference, he's a little chubby at 33 lbs right now and his test said he should weight 50-80 lbs.
I'm definitely taking it with a grain of salt because the company seems to assume that all or most of a dog's great-grandparents were purebreds, which just doesn't seem likely to me. One of those things that's just kinda fun to see, like a 23andMe test (which coincidentally I also did earlier this year).

Sort of humble brag/advice to any future applicants who still have some time: if your school offers a comparative anatomy class and it will fulfill a graduation requirement to take it, I’d totally recommend it. I just had a written anatomy exam that I didn’t study enough for, and I did pretty well on it using almost exclusively knowledge I learned two years ago in undergrad anatomy. Anatomy is a monster of a class, and it’s nice to feel like I at least know somewhat what I’m doing because of prior experience. So rave in that I actually did well when I thought I really screwed myself.

Seconded! It really helped me as well!

Sometimes fast food is really good. I have eaten terrible things exclusively today and I feel great about it

*t-rex-chomps some french fries*
I had a delicious Wendy's Biggie Bag today. A most glorious decision.

Found out yesterday that my horrible hit by car head trauma case is doing really, really well! I’ve been thinking about her lately as I never heard the outcome and just glad to hear that she pulled through and is bouncing around again.

That’s great🙂 I had an awful head trauma HBC case earlier this year (miraculously no other major injuries, maybe a little scrape on his leg) that spent like $50-60k at our referral place and is doing great now too. It was straight up amazing. (Also, yay pet insurance!)

I always feel ridiculous calling it a "Biggie Bag," so I just ask for a 4 for $4 even though I know full well it's now 4 for $5 and the Biggie Bag would technically be a better deal.
Does that come with a frosty
Theoretically it could. When I worked there in HS you could substitute the drink in any meal for a small frosty for no charge. Of course, this was a couple years before they introduced even the 4 for $4. Could have changed.

But if you really like frostys then what you gotta do is buy a keychain in January. For a dollar, it entitles you to a free kids frosty (normal price 49¢) with each visit for an entire year. And when I worked there we didn't care enough to make it purchase required.

Have definitely bought like 3 of these over the years. I haven’t seen them advertised in a while, but maybe I just haven’t gone to Wendy’s during the right time

They definitely don't advertise it like they used to but I have my 2019 keychain. I do know they stop selling them and/or run out pretty early in the year.

Also we def still have 4 for $4 where I am (both MI and IL)
We have several 4 for $4 options too, so I would have to specify that I wanted the 4 for $5 for a biggie bag. Doesn't bother me to say biggie bag to the people who work there though lol

I'll have to look into this keychain situation. I almost always get a Jr. Frosty unless I'm getting large fries (and then I get a small frosty)

@capri1722 I was joking with strangers on the internet about pharmacy stuff and I thought of you

Hope you are well! (sounds like yes?)
Doin good. 🙂 I'm starting to become more optimistic about where I'm headed. I signed up to volunteer with the local animal shelter and orientation is tomorrow. Felt like I needed something outside of work and school to keep me sane.

Miss playing WW but it's for the best right now.

An opportunity came up that we *might* be buying a house. There's a lot in limbo, but even the possibility is very thrilling-I hate apartment land. I couldn't hang my curtains because "they're not white or beige" like what? Also no one picks up after their dog like ever.

I really love my job. Even when I have to tell a client that I don't think we're a good fit for them because of their beliefs, and when I have appointments scheduled every 15 minutes that really should be half hour appointments because I keep squeezing people in that really do need to be seen ASAP, and when I hear about a patient that I've been fighting for who passed away over the weekend. Those things all suck, and I still love what I do. Maybe not so much in the moment, but when I'm back at home with all my animals and my husband, then I can feel proud of what I've done.

Just finished my last feral cat clinic at school with a slew of cat neuters. Easy, fun day; great learning experience and confidence builder.

@Dinashadow held one of my cats for me... one of my favorite doctors called our neuter surgeon group the dream team... there were feral ragdoll kittens and big floofy orange chonker tomcats... truly could not ask for anything more 😍

This sounds like a nightmare. They draw you in with their cuteness, then give you all of their rabies and diseases.
not gonna lie, I almost put my face near a floofy belly... and then realized that it was crawling with fleas and also I don't have a death wish

Oh man I missed out on the kittens.

You guys looked like pros! I'm so glad I got to go. It was nice being around real live animals.

I'd be more concerned about their underlying HCM + feralness + anesthesia= sudden death. That is if they were actually full ragdoll kittens, can't imagine where someone is finding purebred feral ragdoll kittens.

They just looked like ragdolls. Might have said birman for one, but no liddle-white-peets. The other was a flame point.

... although, the MSPCA just took in 45 purebred ragdoll surrenders from roughly our area of the state, so who honestly knows. Maybe these are escapees.

Regardless, I love them.

Right? How would rag dolls survive in the wild?

I love vet school

Next week I get to help monitor bear anesthesia and will be able to scrub into the alterations of my foster kittens (which could still be a month away but still excited)

Don't give it ketamine, right @awesomenessity ?

That's all I know about bear anesthesia hahaha

“Yeah, don’t use xylazine-ketamine in bears. They are prone to spontaneous arousal. I’ve been chased by a few bears on this protocol” said super casually by our anesthesia prof [emoji23]

This is terrifying
