I have been watching Facebook marketplace for a while for a pair of Danskos but in Pullman, they have some just none my size. I came to Seattle and found a few in 38 (which is a size smaller than my estimated) but none in 39. However I found time to try them on and decided to go for it, because they were like-new for only $20 😀
Weird coincidence but I just saw a pair of size 39 Dansko clogs at the Value Village in Totem Lake/Kirkland for like $10! They were too big for me! Also I got my pair on ThredUp for pretty cheap!

No way! I've been in Kirkland all day haha

Yesssss. Just happened today at Nose Hill. Going to tell all the families this week!

Congrats on the snowfall? The well manicured nails?

😉

I am oddly flattered you think those are well manicured because that's just my natural nails that I do 0 things with hahaha 😍

You're way too modest! But congrats again on such a great looking left hand, snow, good skin, great photography skills, like farming talent, or whatever the reason you shared this random pic with us!

Yes please. I can pm you my email if you don't have it any more.
Guys! Guys! Nobody understands how I'm doing it, and the method shown in all the answer keys makes no sense to me at all, but I'M GETTING THE RIGHT ANSWERS!!!

I put off buying scrubs until like the last possible day (they aren't arriving until the day I start) and they went on sale today so I got to spend less money. Procrastinating pays off for once.
With your luck, you'll get put on the ER shift that gets sent home after first day orientation and you won't even need scrubs yet, lol.

Where did you get scrubs on sale??? I need them

I get my scrubs from Walmart. Because it's the only place know of that I can get scrubs I've actually been able to try on.

(Though they never have the right color/size combo in the store and I end up having to order online).

Try looking up uniform stores in your area. I’m sure Lansing has at least a few. I know Walmart has some pretty inexpensive scrubs, but if you’re able to try on some different brands then you can see what’s most comfortable. To me it’s made all the difference in wanting to get home to change vs wanting to wear my scrubs all day lol. And you can also find some really high quality comfy scrubs to try on, see what size fits, and order them online on sale.

Whatever you do, just don't buy nice scrubs. Wear ****ty cheap ones. Forever.

A person who bought a Grey's Anatomy scrub top on sale, fell in love, and now has to spend way too much freaking money per item to be happy. Sigh.

But I looooove my grey's :biglove:

And also feel like they're the only scrubs I've ever found that I don't absolutely drown in lol

I found that they’re an investment. I also don’t know what people are doing in their scrubs (aside from maybe large animal work?) that makes them wear out so fast. I’ve had a pair of grey’s anatomy’s for almost four years now and have worn them for thousands of hours. Still in great shape. The only scrubs I’ve had to replace were ones that a coworker sprayed with bleach because she definitely didn’t know how bleach worked.

And then I’m over here with my $25 per set scrubs I get on amazon and are still comfy AF

I almost agreed with this until I got to the bolded.

It's really ****ty to use a local small business to try things on and then order things online from somewhere else instead. Like, at least have the decency to buy a pair from them if you like them and found what fits in stores. But small businesses won't be able to stay open if people keep doing things like this.

I mean, I guess. But if you’re a student living off of loans and your main concern is trying to save money by buying the cheapest thing available, then you do what you gotta do. It sounds like most people here care about saving money on scrubs. If I didn’t include that last part, I would’ve gotten “yea but that’s too expensive.” Now I’m getting “yea but that’s a dick move.” Whatever.

I found some absolutely lit Star Wars scrubs at Walmart a few years back and I still wear them all the time. Favorite scrub top

if you wanna save money, just order it online to begin with. But I really dont like when people use brick and mortar stores to then just order things from cheaper online retailers who don’t provide the in person services and thus don’t have to charge as much.

I’m with you in that I would rather buy a quality product that I like and lasts a long time. My mom always says “only make it hurt once” lol. Some people care more about saving money.
I see lots of good quality scrubs on FB marketplace for cheap
I’ve gotten several sets of brand new high quality scrubs from goodwill. I’ve also gotten some from other vet students. And I’m not an easy size to fit since I have a tiny waist but I’m fairly tall.

My cheap ones are still great years later, too, at the 25$/set price point. I literally still have the Wal-Mart top I bought the night before my very first shadowing experience lol. But they're nowhere near as comfy as the Greys.

They leave pens in their pockets and repeatedly ruin expensive scrub tops because said person is very particular about the single brand of scrubs they like best and also very particular about pens and also absent minded af :hello:

Yep. Used to solely wear Walmart scrubs, then got gifted Cherokee scrubs. Now I never wear the cheapo ones because the Cherokee’s are soooooo cozy. And when I had to buy new scrubs for my transfer, I of course got Cherokees.

For the longest time I thought Cherokee had crappy scrubs. Then I realized it was because I bought a pair of the unisex ones since I needed them for my first vet assistant job and that’s all I could find on short notice. They were so scratchy and stiff and uncomfortable. Eventually I got the men’s-specific ones and they’re so much better.

I hated the greys anatomy scrubs, if I wanted to show off my cleavage and figure, I'd buy something other than scrubs for that. They're all seriously so form fitting it is uncomfortable.

The only scrubs I really liked were the Walmart ones. Comfortable, doesn't attempt to cling to my figure, and not expensive.

Though now I don't ever have to worry about buying scrubs again.... 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

I personally love the Healing Hands by Purple Heart scrubs. They’re form fitting like the Grey’s scrubs but not so form fitting that I can eat a couple cookies from the break room and not hate myself after lol! Plus I LOVE the material they’re made out of, moreso than the couple pairs of greys that I have. It’s a smooth, almost silky, kinda sporty material. Supposedly the material is supposed to keep fur from clinging to you and I do find that when I wear my HH PH scrubs, I go home with less fur on me. They also are practically wrinkle free, which I absolutely love. I actually will sleep in them from time to time if they’re clean and I have an early shift the next day lol

You know what I don’t understand? White scrubs.

Why the heck would you get the most stainable colour as the clothing to substitute your street clothes with?

I’ve already completely ruined my nice embroidered white coat ceremony white coat.

This is like those ladies who always wear white pants in tampon commercials. Why even own white pants?!

I don’t own white pants and the only white clothing item I own is a dress that I wore for high school graduation. I’m too messy to wear white lol

I really think it depends on your body shape tbh. I always have a comparatively small waist even when I'm fat so the Grey's look almost tailored on me and then combined with being sooo soft I was just sold haha.

I only wear scrubs in surgery nowadays (or if something real bloody walks in and I'm trying to protect my dress clothes) and it honestly makes me a lil sad. I want pajama clothes. 🙁

White coats and I are just in a constant fight. I have like six at work and it's not unheard of for me to burn through two or three in a shift, easy. My assistants groan at me because they are constantly laundering them haha.

I had a separate white coat so I wouldn't immediately ruin my nice embroidered white coat. Now that I'm entering clinics it'll go pretty fast I'm sure

I love my grey’s anatomy scrubs, my only complaint is how easily they seem to pick up fur. I’m about to get a pair of Figs, but I keep changing sizes and I want it to be a rather permanent pair.

I might actually work in my pj's quite a bit these days.

I've been working in my school's emergency/ICU unit over the Christmas break and I am loving it 😍 I feel like I've learned so much already and I love it when weird and wild stuff comes in, especially in the middle of the night. This is definitely a field I could see myself pursuing in the future.

However, working in this part of our hospital has also re-affirmed my feelings that I would never ever ever bring my own pet here unless it was suffering from imminent death and I had no other immediate options.
