Love all your suggestions!

We decided to name her Cabernet - probably will end up as Cab or Cabbie.

She's a spitfire! Will post picture, soon!

Finally got to go shadow my vet friend at the zoo! It was AMAZING! Except now I'm mad because it just makes me want to be a zoo vet even more, but I've told myself not to even think about it because the jobs are so scarce. But now that I don't have the boy to hold me back I could go wherever I wanted for internships and then jobs... Something to think about. It actually was a little sad because we had to put down two of the animals today and spent all day doing necropsies. But they both were ready to go so it wasn't a tough choice. One was a fennec fox with a giant oral tumor that had caused a huge chunk of jawbone to erode from his upper jaw. The other was a red ruffed lemur with major kidney failure. I hate to say cool when it involves the recently deceased. But SO COOL.

Wow! I agree, totally cool. And I'm definitely a bit jealous.😉

I went to the track today and won my first trifecta!!! Won $54 dollars off a .50$ bet!!

There was a moment where I was screaming and jumping around.

My cat had a vet appointment today to check on how she is doing. She didn't lose any weight and even seemed to weigh a very little extra more. She was well hydrated and the vet thinks she looks good. Now she only need SQ fluids every other day! I am glad that she is responding well to fluids. Hopefully her little kidneys are happy.

This may seem like a weird rave but I figure if anyone is going to understand it would be the people on here.

I assisted with a home euthanasia today. The dog was 5 years old, severely anemic, and very ill. The owner was willing to do whatever it took to save her, but she just wasn't going to get better. It was a very sad case and everyone at the clinic was upset about it. I thought it would be the saddest time but it was actually quite peaceful and beautiful. We did it in the backyard (it is sunny and nice out) and the owner was sad but at peace with her decision. The dog was the sweetest, best dog and the owner is one of the nicest people I have ever met. It was wonderful to see the bond they had. Afterwards the owner hugged me and the vet and thanked us for all we did. It is nice to see a down to earth, caring owner who just wanted the best for her best friend. It was a very sad but also a very sweet moment that I will carry with me for a long time.

That is a sweet and touching story, and I feel I was rewarded for reading this today.
Thank you for sharing.

I found them! 😳

Also, I was SUPER impressed with the Preakness this afternoon. What a nice horse! And I spent an extra half hour on the treadmill walking while waiting for the darn race to start since I don't have TV at home. Good, maybe I can pass along those extra pounds! 😉

I called my grandma after her vet visit yesterday and she said her dog is feeling much better! She's trying to jump on the couch, which means she really does feel better. I'm going there later today to see her and because my grandma baked my favorite cake. 🙂

Confession: I have never had a puppy - all my dogs were adopted in adulthood.

I love her cute, wrinkly face... BUT I am tired of going up and down the stairs every 10 minutes so she doesn't pee/poop in the housei.

I may lose a few pounds too by the time I get her trained!

Jam0rockin: I highly recommend you reading Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls. It's about a boy and his two Redbone Coonhounds.

Sweet pup!

Saw the movie, loved it as a kid. Never read the book, though.

Here's another picture to melt your hearts!

Such a very cute puppy!!!! 😍

I used to foster puppies - would get them past all of the housebreaking and chewing and then find them homes.

Thanks! Also... are you insane or just a glutton for punishment? Fostering only puppies? Wow.

Probably  Puppies can be fun though. I would usually only foster puppies of breeds that I would never own that way I wouldn't want to keep them. I worked at the shelter in college so it was hard not foster when needed. I had a deaf & blind aussie puppy once - she was awesome. 🙂

Noooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! 😱 🙁

Agreed!

OMG I want her! So adorable! I do not miss the puppy stage. I slept next to my puppy's crate for a week when we got her so I could get up when she needed to go out.

YAY! It is always so nice to have beautiful days. This weekend in Norcal is gorgeous, only downside is my allergies are killing me. Enjoy your day!

It is a beautiful day here in Oklahoma!
Gorgeous here as well. Nice to enjoy some sun without humidity (while it lasts).

I know! When I was there a couple weeks ago it was sooooooo dry (I mean, it is a desert). My lips chapped within 5 minutes of me being off the plane
Chap stick and lotion are a must in every purse and backpack I own lol. But I tend to break out like crazy when I travel. My skin is used to dry air!!
