Love all your suggestions!
We decided to name her Cabernet - probably will end up as Cab or Cabbie.
She's a spitfire! Will post picture, soon!
Wow! I agree, totally cool. And I'm definitely a bit jealous.😉Finally got to go shadow my vet friend at the zoo! It was AMAZING! Except now I'm mad because it just makes me want to be a zoo vet even more, but I've told myself not to even think about it because the jobs are so scarce. But now that I don't have the boy to hold me back I could go wherever I wanted for internships and then jobs... Something to think about. It actually was a little sad because we had to put down two of the animals today and spent all day doing necropsies. But they both were ready to go so it wasn't a tough choice. One was a fennec fox with a giant oral tumor that had caused a huge chunk of jawbone to erode from his upper jaw. The other was a red ruffed lemur with major kidney failure. I hate to say cool when it involves the recently deceased. But SO COOL.

That is a sweet and touching story, and I feel I was rewarded for reading this today. This may seem like a weird rave but I figure if anyone is going to understand it would be the people on here.
I assisted with a home euthanasia today. The dog was 5 years old, severely anemic, and very ill. The owner was willing to do whatever it took to save her, but she just wasn't going to get better. It was a very sad case and everyone at the clinic was upset about it. I thought it would be the saddest time but it was actually quite peaceful and beautiful. We did it in the backyard (it is sunny and nice out) and the owner was sad but at peace with her decision. The dog was the sweetest, best dog and the owner is one of the nicest people I have ever met. It was wonderful to see the bond they had. Afterwards the owner hugged me and the vet and thanked us for all we did. It is nice to see a down to earth, caring owner who just wanted the best for her best friend. It was a very sad but also a very sweet moment that I will carry with me for a long time.
I found them! 😳I lost 8 pounds![]()

Sweet pup!

Such a very cute puppy!!!! 😍
I used to foster puppies - would get them past all of the housebreaking and chewing and then find them homes.![]()
Noooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! 😱 🙁
Thanks! Also... are you insane or just a glutton for punishment? Fostering only puppies? Wow.
Puppies can be fun though. I would usually only foster puppies of breeds that I would never own that way I wouldn't want to keep them. I worked at the shelter in college so it was hard not foster when needed. I had a deaf & blind aussie puppy once - she was awesome. 🙂Noooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! 😱 🙁

I was trying to post this in reply to wldlfstndt's kitten improvement.
Saw the movie, loved it as a kid. Never read the book, though.
Here's another picture to melt your hearts!

Chap stick and lotion are a must in every purse and backpack I own lol. But I tend to break out like crazy when I travel. My skin is used to dry air!!I know!
