Study week starts on the 18th and to kick it off, I'm heading down to see Great Big Sea play at the Canada Games on the 19th. WOO! I've been dying to see them in concert for a really long time.

So luckkyyyyyyyy. My Canadian friend introduced me to their music and I love them. xD

After an early morning and a crappy test, I got the flowers my fiance sent. We've been together for nearly 3 years and this is the first time I've gotten flowers from him, so it's a really sweet gesture.

My SO sent me flowers today, except the card read "Happy Valentine's Day. I love you, Peanut."
Peanut is the name of our hamster.

busted my butt on my 2 days off (sunday and monday) after getting back from WA from my interview (and as a result, feeling super tired)... and FINALLY finished a portrait for one of my clients, who kept getting the "I am so sorry it is taking so long, I am applying to vet school" emails. She is a saint for being so patient. One down, two to go for her!

I attached a photo of my blood, sweat and tears. Certainly not the hardest I have ever done, but with everything going on with vet school admissions, it was a struggle to focus.

Are you taking requests? See I know these two dogs... 😉

Wow thanks guys for the overwhelming feedback! I never really think my stuff is any good, but that's just because I am naturally overly critical and a perfectionist (the makings of a great vet?). You all made my rave that much better 😍

And yes, I can do portraits for any SDNers! Quick, get at me BEFORE I go to vet school and no longer have any free time!

Ack! So awesome!! :claps::biglove:Could I submit a picture?? Please?!?!

RAVE: I love life (even though the ice on most surfaces is attempting to break my neck 😀). I love SDN & all of the people I've met so far and hope to meet in the future. ROCK ON LIFE!

Oh.....in case no one told you: Happy Valentine's Day from someone who loves everyone 🙂 (amounts may vary). Don't ever accept if anyone ever tells you that you are not awesome!:biglove:

The president of the Micro society gave us (the members) pieces of biscotti with "Happy Valentine's Day" messages on them. And here I thought I wasn't going to get a valentine today.

And I got a 48.9% on my Orgo II test. Why is this a rave? Because I've made the decision to drop the class. It's just not worth it to me to keep fighting it. My dad said to me, "Not everyone is good at everything. There's no shame in not being good at that."

Yeah, I am getting lots of requests now that I came out of my artist-closet. I posted a thread with my website on it!

Ps. your enthusiasm is CONTAGIOUS. I love life too... and I love that I have a full day of work tomorrow (11-12 hrs), but it does not matter because I love work! How could you not when you work at a vet!

Contrary to sometimes unknown belief (and the persona I give off), I was not always like this. This is probably one of the first times that I'm truly happy (more or less) in my 22 years on this earth😀 Just added a request to your site! Congrats on coming out 😉

Coquette - YOU GO GIRL!! (Props to your daddy: he's a wise man 🙂)

Today is my birthday! I woke up to eggs Benedict. And I got my first iPod! Touch 4g~😍

Dad passes his driving test today, so he's set to get his license reinstated. For those who don't know, my dad suffered a stroke in September. Following a stroke, you have to be retested to see if you're fit to drive. It turns out that due to an oversight or something, Dad's license was never really taken away, but at least he passed the road test today and he's good to go!😀

Found out I got a yearly 5,500$ scholarship! Yes! School is now slightly more affordable!

Yay! The Rave thread is such a great pick me up 😀

That is so excellent for your dad!! I'm sure it may have been difficult at times through this, but I am glad it's on the ups!👍👍

I love being able to afford college! But, alas, no additional scholarships here!

But congrats to you! Milk that school for all it's worth😀

So my girlfriend and I were driving home from a friend's house tonight and made a pit stop at the CVS. Our purchases? Two boxes of feminine products and two bags of candy.

Of course, we got the male cashier. He took one look at our loot, one look at us, kind of like this: :scared: and said "H-h-h-how are you ladies doing tonight?"

🤣 That's great EG! I absolutely love this story!!!

I just found out that I get to take over as Foster Program Coordinator for the dog rescue that I'm involved with 🙂

After taking a loooong walk out in the 70 degree February sunshine, I've spent all evening baking (sugar cookies and red velvet whoopie pies) to bring to the boy and his family. I get to fly out right after class tomorrow and then we're taking a trip up to our alma mater for the weekend! Belated Valentine's Day is waaaaay more important than studying!

1) My exam schedule is AWESOME this semester. No more 4 exams in 4 days!!!!!

2) One of my profs actually smushed the words "proctor" and "-ologist" together when I asked him if he was a proctor for my anatomy test. It made me LOL.

Ok... so I him-hawed around as to whether this is a rant or a rave. It can be seen from both sides, but I'm trying to think positive today (because everything else that's happened has left me feeling like I've been kicked in the junk... if I had junk....)

http://www.whiotv.com/news/26904779/detail.html

Sad story. Real sad story.

HOWEVER.... got a call from where I used to work and their organization is partnering with the group that is taking these animals from the situation. For my Masters, I wrote a guidance document for that organization about animal disaster response.... IT'S ACTUALLY BEING USED. Here, I thought my final project for my Masters would sit on a shelf because, as the residents of where I worked put it "nothing happens in podunk"....

This happens just in time for me to defend my Masters project and provide actual proof as to why what I worked on was needed.

I feel bad for being that excited about this situation but for me, it's a huge deal. Also, the animals are getting to escape that hell hole... so we both win (sad that it had to happen, though)

:woot:

Ooh, thanks! I may have to try that at some point. I've always intended to try a red velvet something, because they just look so damn cool. It's something I never encounter around here. Come to think of it, I've never encountered a whoopie pie either (hence me not knowing what it was).

My little rave: Study week officially started for me at 12:25 today! I got an A on my Microbial Ecology midterm, and got my group for that class's project sorted out. Now I'm just chilling.

Feels good to chill. 😀

Penny - This is certainly a RAVE! :highfive:

Three day weekend in which I actually have a weekend? What madness is this?!

Just checked my work schedule, and I have Monday off. That also happens to be a day off from school. This is my first totally free day in over a month and a half. Super exciting. I'm gonna try to get all my homework done before then so that I can actually enjoy it. 🙂

AHH! I know this doesn't belong here but:
I got into my #1! AHHHH!

For everyone waiting: good luck! All of you are deserving applicants. Let's just hope these schools realize this!! No matter what happens - don't ever surrender.

:biglove:

:soexcited::soexcited: I KNEW it!!! CONGRATS!!!!!

Now, head south so I can take you out for a celebratory drink!!!

Had an overall crappy week, which makes Friday seem even more amazing!
So, Raves:
Its Friday!
It was in the high 70s and I took a nap outside in my hammock this afternoon for almost 3 hours. While wearing a tank top and shorts and I even got a sunburn! In February!
And I am going out tonight with my amazing classmates to celebrate the end of a long, exam-and-makeup-lecture filled week!

I'm with you cowgirla...had a crappy beginning of the day, too. We had a graduation meeting this morning and started rounds late. During rounds I had a fairly easy case and thought I had covered everything appropriately until the clinician started asking questions that weren't covered in the reading material or class notes until I felt like crying (believe me, I'm getting to the rave).

Then, miraculously, he let us leave before 2 (this is unheard of for clinics). My hubbie and I went and got "The Cup" cupcakes for his birthday celebration and we went on a walk in the nice-ish weather.👍

Both my dogs are peacefully snoring on the couch

Thank you! I try (today has been much too exhausting. With the way it's going, I'd better wake up tomorrow). :biglove: all the way!!!😉
