In less than 2 weeks, I'll be marrying my best friend! My mom and I accomplished so much wedding stuff this weekend and then visited the winery where we are getting married. It's going to be freaking gorgeous!

Mine had his out in December. I think he had a poor anesthetic reaction and ended up in severe acute liver failure. Kind of a weird reaction. I'm sure everything will be amazing tomorrow.

This is what happened to my dog a year ago this past March. Splenectomy went fine, tumor was benign but he went into severe liver and kidney failure. I couldn't stand to watch him suffer so we euthanized him. 🙁

That things go better with your splenectomy tomorrow.

I'm still mad about my chemistry grade and grades overall this year, but.. I was nervous I'd get a C in animal science (I know, it's not that hard, but I just couldn't find the time to study enough for it. I figured out a better study plan now..). Well, I must have done very well on the final because I got a B! Very well as in almost perfect because I never thought I'd be able to get that..

Also, even better.. I was scared I'd fail physics. She said she'd drop our lowest test grade, which left me with a 73 and 74. And then she'd replace the lower one with the final exam grade if it was higher. I just got the grade.. an 83! I'm so happy. The program to check final grades won't load, but if she really did all of that, I'd have a B in physics, too! 🙂

My BF's aunt and uncle (the ones I lived with for a while) brought me over an entire 9 x 13 sheet pan of pepperjack/sharp white cheddar, homemade mac n cheese.... and homemade chicken noodle soup today!
The best part? Their son surprised them this weekend and came to visit... he's an NYC chef and helped make them both. Best wisdom teeth surgery recovery food EVER!

Eeep!! My vet I work for has just become the vet for a small zoo in the area!! We have a tiger coming in on Monday!!!! (Poor guy has fissures on his feet that aren't getting better, she's thinking pemphigus 🙁) But I am SO EXCITED!!

On this same sort of note... I'm finally starting to shadow my vet friend who is the zoo vet at a small zoo an hour away. I'm SO excited. She and I get along really well. She's just a few years out of school so we have a bit more in common than the other older vets I work with. Can't wait!!!

Hi all!

I haven't had internet for a couple of weeks which is why I have not been around.

Some raves...
New job is going well. So far, we're doing a lot of manual labour (I was hired as an apple and grape geneticist hahaha) but I like my coworkers. We also get to do some fun stuff with the lab like yoga Wednesdays and Fridays at lunch time and we got to go to wine tastings on Friday.

Got an iPhone. I LOVE it.

Boyfriend loaned me his old DSLR camera. I cannot WAIT TO use it.

My new roommate is awesome.

I really like the small town I am living in. It is so pretty and quaint. There is also an awesome farmers market on the weekend.

I literally thought I was going to have to euthanize her yesterday after how she was looking Saturday. But instead she perked up and is running around like a little crazy pants biting my feet. 😍

It's very tempting! Only thing holding me back is that the campground I'm headed to only has 3 miles of hiking trails, so that certainly won't keep me busy for very long. There's another park in the area I'm planning on stopping at, but I can't find a listing of their trails or campsites anywhere, so just kinda winging it there (AKA- there's a big green splotch on my map, and I'm heading to it!)

Of course, a second night will most definitely necessitate a second beer run!

Finally came home for the first time in 5 months and reunited with my puppies ! They always go crazy when I come home but I thought my little man was gonna wiggle out of his skin! Which probably wouldn't be so bad since they are in desperate need of a grooming! But the best part was no one had any injuries or sores! (I never know what I'm going to get when I come home, my mom is not exactly great on care). I'm so happy that this time I'll be able to take them back to school with me and I'll never have to worry about that again !!!!!!!

Sitting in my bed with them both at my sides and about a millimeter on either side to move, and it's the best feeling in the world 😍

Me to, I can't even begin to tell you how long I've wanted to get them out of here, my mom cares very little for dogs and pretty much just tolerates them for my benefit. She's usually ok, like she'll notice when they don't eat or if they limp or what not but for some reason my boy can have giant hot spots and she doesn't think its a problem (wtf mom?)

Just bought a new computer yesterday - a macbook pro 13" - my old laptop was giving me the blue screen of death every time I turned it on and I would have to restore it. My tax return was my saving grace this year or I would be SOL. 😀

I am still trying to figure the whole thing out though having owned PCs my entire life.

I don't own a laptop at all, and let's face it, it's tough without one. I'm really up in the air because I absolutely love my PC but the Macs look pretty user friendly. I'm just super leery of the price

I think I am going to stop by a bakery for some goodies.

My kitty is okay. She is in kidney failure. Her original values were cut in half, but are still bad. She is getting k/d diet and I give her fluids every morning. I have been lucky because she has let me do them by myself with her sitting in my lap (though this morning she wanted to resist). She will get more blood work at the end of the week to see where her values are. Hopefully they will be better. Her thyroid isn't so much the issue as the kidneys are atm. She eats and is happy to wake me up at 2 in the morning as always for food. She seems happy, maybe a little more vocal.

She has woken me up at 2 am for years, quite used to it. You really learn to not ignore it when she pulls a notebook with hw in it and proceeds to shred said hw when you won't get up.

I am just trying to keep her happy and comfortable and functioning. 🙂

Finished with my Animal Nutrition class, it's a beautiful day outside, my family will be here on Thursday, and walking in the graduation on Friday (for a PhD, so they are gonna call me "doctor..." yeah!)! I am loving this week so far! 😀
