1) I am 98% certain I have a fantastic apartment for next year.
2) My parents may also be getting me a car (well, sort of - I plan on paying at least half, and it's only $1500, but it's better than what I'm driving now!)
3) My focaccia bread turned out!

Sure it means I HAVE a final tomorrow (70% of my grade on equine...hmmm) but its gotten to the point where I don't really care!!!

YAY Sunshine! Good luck and rock that final! :xf:

My parents are thinking of buying me a new car! I wasn't expecting this at all. My Dad is worried about my car breaking down now that it is out of warranty. I just hit 70k the other day. I love love my car, so it will take a lot of searching to find one to replace it. Definitely will be another Subaru. Also, I just looked up the Kelley Blue Book value and it's ~$9,000!
My car is a 2006 and it has 145,000 on it! 😱

I just graduated! I didn't trip and I didn't mess up my speech! YESSS!!!!
My family is so proud and made me feel very loved today! 😍
Congratulations BKT!!!!!! 😀

Went to buy kitty litter, and a really old lady was standing there looking at this bag of litter on the top shelf. I pulled it down for her and she looked at it and said, "oh this won't do. Multicat. Why don't they make more of them for just one cat!?"

Totally made my day

And, in comparison, my car is a 2005 and has 62,000 miles on it. (And I got it used when it was a year old and had 17,000 miles on it already.)

Does it sound weird to say that I love old people comments? Well, I do.

Also, my cat totally needs multicat for just her.

I'm giddy at the prospect of a car with only 71,000 miles on it. My current car is a 97 Toyota Corolla with 166,000 on it. Mechanically, it's still sound, but the body is accumulating some rust (thank you Atlantic ocean and heavily salted winter roads). Step-Dad's son is a mechanic who just acquired an 05 Kia Rio with 71k on it. I've never had a car under 10 years old before.

My car is also a 2005. It has 58,000 miles on it. I also bought it used and it had around 12,000 miles on it to start with. I now need to sell it. 🙁

Wow. And I thought I didn't drive all that much. I guess the 400 miles each way to school did add up over time.

I had about 200 miles between home and school that I would travel almost every weekend for 2 years. It apparently did not add up as much as I would have thought.

I am going to miss this car. It is my first car, I bought it on my own, got a super low interest rate and I have almost finished paying it off. 🙁

Ima top you both and say that I had a 2004 Ford Mustang that I bought as a repo in 2004 with 3300 miles on it 🙂eek🙂 and I traded it in December 2011 and it had....wait for it....250, 050 miles on it! :eyebrow:

Double rave- trading my jeep wrangler in for a new car (with some help from my parents- i'm very lucky in that respect)! And I got to meet the puppies! I'll know which is mine next weekend, but for now here is a picture of my two favorites!

Weimaraners are my very favorite breed! You better post tons of photos 😍

I'm sooo excited. I can't pick him up for another 3 weeks. But current front runner name is Goose

That's funny - I plan on getting a weimaraner one day and naming him "Moose" 😛 (obviously my favorite animal, based on my avatar)

My puppy is named Goose! 😍

She is definitely not a Weim, and her original name wasn't Goose, but it's the only one she responds too 😕.

On another note... I just watched an episode of Secret Millionaire and it's so inspiring! The rich family is superficial and ridiculous, but the director does a fantastic job of showcasing all of the great volunteer organizations in the area. Makes me feel like I need to get involved again!

My car is a 2006 bought in 2005. The engine had a huge problem last fall, but it was covered under warranty. Now that it's out, my parents are worried that it will break down and be very expensive to fix/worth nothing on trade in. Things are starting to go and need to be replaced, which I am okay with doing. But my parents seem like they are afraid that it will blow up or something. My sister called it a "death trap"😕. I love my car and it has saved my life so many times. It is still safe..just needs new breaks..
Anyways, I found a model that I really like. Subaru legacy 3.5 R (265 hp 😀). Buying it new won't be too expensive after trading in my car and the discount from our insurance. Exciting!

"The death trap"

My best friend in high school, I used to call her car "the metal death trap." Except it really was.

My sister has nicknamed my car, "the toaster oven." She says that because it is so low to the ground that when she sits in it she feels like a piece of toast that is going to pop out the roof.

I sold my last car when it was 14 yo. I don't think a 7 yo car is a death trap yet

But I feel safer in a newer car and it definitely drives better. I feel like a real adult not driving a beater 😎. Of course the final straw to sell my old car was the brake lines snapped when I was driving down the street. 😱 I never need to experience pressing the brakes and having my foot hit the floor with no hint of slowing down or stopping 😱. Got the whole brake system redone before I could sell the car, but still hated the car.

My Dad just found me an entire bedroom set (Bed frame, dresser w/mirror, night stand, and desk) for FREE from a guy he works with! And it's actually really really nice! YAY! :biglove:

Secondly: After a really big scare yesterday, I just wanted to remind everyone that life is short and do not take anything for granted because you can be gone in a second. Not trying to be morbid, just extra grateful for life and everything in it today! :zip:

Awesome day at the shelter today. We had to do a necropsy 🙂() and the vet let me do some knots at the end!

I FINALLY got my private student loan into a deferrment!!!

I am soooo happy. They were being such *******es at the bank stating that because the in school deferrment can only be placed 60 days before classes start (classes start August 6th and my payment is due on the 3rd) that I would still have to make a June payment. I was pissed, seriously 3 day difference, but they, FINALLY, agreed to just apply it for this month!!!

:soexcited:

I feel like this might be long, but I don't care. I'm elated.

It's been a week since we moved in and in that week our anxiety-ridden, neurotic, IBD-suffering skeleton of a cat has not had one litterbox accident. Before, 1-2 accidents per day were the norm. I was seriously considering buying stock in Clorox wipes and Nature's Miracle. Now? Not one accident.

Beyond that, she is visibly happier than I have seen her in at least four years. She turns everything she finds on the floor into a toy and drags her toys in her mouth to us so we play with her. She's been grooming and cuddling with our other cat, which he's always wanted but she's never done.

I am so happy to not be cleaning up kitty poo every day. I'm even happier that my baby girl is seemingly a well-adjusted, happy (not just happy - almost kitten-like!) kitty. In the last week she has gained a whole pound.

I almost wonder if there was something about our old place that brought all of this on (previous owners had a cat, downstairs neighbors smoked, etc.), but I'm pushing that all out of my mind and just living in the moment of having a happy kitty meowing on my chest every morning, even if it's at 5am.

👍👍👍 are you in philly now? i'm glad to hear your kitty is doing well - it's amazing sometimes how happy our pets can make us 🙂

Yep, in Philly now. Loving it, except for the smashed-in car window I woke up to Saturday morning (Penn Vet Facebook friends, now you know my SDN identity!).

It really is amazing how happy I am about her. My husband is even happier. I wouldn't be lying if I said he shed a tear out of happiness, but don't tell him I said that!

Or you could be super creepy like was. 😳

Haha it was not creepy (okay, not *totally* creepy!). Whenever you get housing sorted out and move in, I think a frosty beverage is in order!

Definitely! And I apologize! When I'm really bored I browse Facebook and having new friends to browse through is more exciting than going through people I've known a while. I have a friend though who is a hardcore FB creeper. It's impressive and scary at the same time.

Correction: a frosty beverage at mad mex (aka big azz margaritas) are in order 😉

Last week of work and I. Am. Pumped. Ready to act like a stupid student on summer break again. W00t!

Mine's in a month! Can't wait 😀
