RAVE HERE thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It is my first day today! Hahaha

I like it, but I do have to say that I am not used to cleaning stalls like this anymore. Maaaan.. I feel like I've been working all day already and it's only been three hours. Hahaha

Thanks for all your support in the "other" thread everyone. I wasn't letting any of that get to me  , but I still appreciate you all for having my back. 😍

Today it was confirmed that I can move into a new apartment on Saturday! It's going to be a lot closer to my internship, significantly better than the crowded no-room-for-my-food-in-the-fridge-and-no-dryer place I'm currently staying in, and the rent is cheaper. Good things!

I was asked if I wanted the female GS puppy coming this weekend. Um, yes! That's the one I wanted, but didn't wanna ask for it, because it's their temperament that decides who they go to. Super happy!

😍

Things have been going very well lately. I love it, but it makes me feel like something bad is gonna happen to mess it all up...

I'm going on a cruise at the end of the month!! 😀

My organic chemistry professor just submitted an eLOR for me. I know y'all think I'm crazy for having so much of VMCAS done, but it makes my Type A heart happy.

I would love an upgrade. Man. Haha. Hasn't happened yet. This is my 5th cruise...

This is my first cruise..............

'Scuse me if I missed something, but what is all this talk of cruises? And why wasn't I invited?

JMJ, I started the talk with being excited that I leave for my Alaskan cruise this Saturday.

+1, I LOVE cruises.

I think I will love them. 👍

I'm going on a cruise at the end of the month!! 😀

Woo Hoo! Where to?

Woo Hoo! Where to?

Eastern Caribbean--St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Nassau, and the personal island of the cruise ship (Royal Caribbean). SO EXCITED!

My puppy's name is Ivy! I love it! She will be here on Saturday! Get ready for a ton of pictures! 😀

Um.... was anyone else aware that Triscuit makes little mini baby badiblet triscuits?! 🙂

I wasn't even aware that badiblet was a word.

Sent from my LG-LS840 using SDN Mobile

 My roommate and I in UG used to call the baby bottles of liquor, badiblets, and it has now caught on to everything mini in the whole world 🙄

not exactly the same as a cruise but my sister and I are going to europe this summer for the first time! 17 days, London - Paris - Barcelona - Rome - Florence/Venice (haven't decided where yet!)

😀 😀 😀 😀

Ok so now that I ranted about leaving my sick pup for the weekend...

:soexcited:I'M GOING TO NYC TOMORROW! :biglove:
Can't wait to see my parents and brother, and even cooler, I just found out today that my favorite cousin just happens to be heading there this weekend too! Yay!! :hardy:😀:hardy:😀:hardy:

3 more days until I get my puppy Ivy! Started cleaning my brother's house so it'll be puppy safe. Man, so much work. It's gross here. Already spent an hour in the kitchen and am about a third done. :scared:

But, I'm getting a puppy! Hahaha 😍

Jealous!! my eLOR writers are all playing the "remind me when its closer to July-August" game. I think its a conspiracy! I'm going to start being super annoying then. :poke:

One of my LORs waited until the night before it was due to submit. I totally expected it from her, but I was minorly flipping out.

I wasn't expecting this one so quickly! The other two have given themselves July deadlines, and they have to work with me a few days per week, so I'm not concerned. It's an awesome feeling! I hope your recommenders hurry up!

So this is a little story about Organic Chemistry, and how much... it sucks, and how I could have gotten away with the bonfire.

Most annoying thing ever - when people try to tell me how awesome O chem is.

Act 1:
I took O chem 1 at Harvard, mistake number 1.
Broke up with my boyfriend at the beginning of the semester, mistake number 2.
Got back together with boyfriend, started studying for the GRE's, and took on an extra 150 hour externship with fish (to make me look good) on top of working full time as a research assistant. Mistakes number 3-6.
Was averaging a 66, so I dropped it. Mistake number 7, because my friend was averaging the same and ended up with a B- after surely bombing the final. That's called the Harvard inflation.Sucky but True.

Act 2.
Started Ochem 1 at Harvard, again. Mistake number 8?
Did NOT get back together with boyfriend 🙂
Got reduced hours at work 🙂
Passed Ochem 1 by the skin of my teeth!
Had an awesome study group, who all hated Ochem, so it was awesome. No one tried to help the others see the beauty in Ochem, and we liked it like that.

Act 3:
Started Ochem 2 at Harvard. Horrible mistake number 9.
I had already been rejected from 3 other Vet schools, all requiring Ochem 2. Mistake number 10-12 for the money spent on those apps?
Dropped Ochem 2 after I interviewed with Ross. They don't require Ochem 2 🙂 EASILY could have been mistake number 13 😉 wink wink
Fantasized about havong an Ochem bonfire with textbooks, psets and notecards, but worried I may have blown it and must take again next semester, so I didn't. Mistake number 14.

Act 4, final act:
Got accepted into Ross
cried and thanked God

END SCENE

:high five: I'm glad to see the happy ending to your O-chem story! Congrats on getting into Ross!

I might not have a car drivers license, but I did just get my forklift license!

I'm so relieved that went without a problem..

I feel your pain. I hated Organic with every part of my mind and soul.
Congrats on Ross😀

UGH o-chem, the bane of my existence. Now that I've gotten through orgo 2 with the same horrendous professor as orgo 1, I am refusing to take the lab that accompanies the courses. (You can take the lab a different semester than the lecture at my school). The lab used to be really easy, but now they just re-did it and it's horrible. As in, the average in lab is a C. So I say FINE! I won't apply to any schools that require orgo lab as pre-reqs, so there.

Just started our drive to the big apple!!!!! Yay for mini vacas! 😀
