I had to weed all day today 🙁 BUT first crop of peas today!! 😀😍 Totally made it worth it. Pretty decent sized too, considering the pea plants have only climbed 2 feet up the fence panels. Will be a good crop this year! Still gonna be a few weeks for the rest of the garden to produce, though.

She was horribly bullied by a bunch of punk middle school boys on the bus ride home. To her luck, the boys were also quite stupid, because they videotaped the whole thing and posted it to youtube. It has gained A LOT of attention. People started donating money for her to go on vacation and over the past day, 4,000 people have donated over $85,000 for this woman! Meanwhile, the little brats will hopefully get their a**** handed to them.... I don't care how old, young, or otherwise you are, but bullying is NOT ok.

I heard about that! They had raised over $200,000 the last time I checked. Who lets these kids treat people this way? 🙁 Kudos to all of the people reaching out to her.

I emailed them last night and told them (again) exactly why I declined. He sent an email this morning that asked what I would accept. So I'm hopeful about it. I sent back an email with the lowest amount and some contract terms I would need to accept. So here's hoping I will hear back:xf:

Back in the stone age when I was in high school..... Ok, so it was only 10-15 years ago 😉 Our bus drivers could radio the school about what was going on, and the kids would receive detention(In School Suspension, or Out of School Suspension). I lived in a small town though, so school officials could do what they wanted. 😀:meanie:
 
Update 2:
They want to sit down and work some terms out. TBH, it feels a little flaky at this point. Like they want me to back down a lot on my terms, but I have a date set to meet with them and go over the contract.

I know, but I can't. So it won't work for them. For instance - not ok with 5 vacation/sick days a year. They claim I can get more time off unpaid. Ok, but that's not written into the contract. So if you decide I don't get time off, I don't. I've explained that I want it to state in the contract that if given a reasonable amount of time, I should get the time off (within a reasonable amount). They keep asking what my ideas are on vacation....

I hope things work out for you, dyachei.

So Betty White is on the Board of the organization whose meeting I was attending this weekend to present my research, and apparently she usually makes it to this annual meeting but this year she couldn't. We were all (there were about 20 vet students here from around the country + a few international) a little bummed, then yesterday we each received a personally signed picture from her. The meeting was really fun and it was so great to meet so many awesome colleagues! I don't care if people know what my name is, so I'm going to post the picture. It was a good time!! 🙂

Edit: I just remembered you're my SDN "big" 😉 so that could be rather confusing. Although you are most likely wonderful, I was talking about my UF big 😀

I now know who you are and who your big is. It was pretty easy with the description of tall, blonde, and awesome. I know who you are because there was some talk about bigs/littles on your class's fb page the other day
