Your pup sounds like my dog Roc - he is my heart... him & I are like ET & Elliot....

I'm not sure why that one came out so small. Hmm

Anyway, the last guy is Nickolai. He has beautiful blue crossed eyes lol. I couldn't get a picture of those because he was nomming. Also!! When I first got to his enclosure he was chilling in his tub with just his eyes poking out. I wish I had gotten a picture of that but I wasn't fast enough and he was too excited about his food 😀

I was bent over cleaning a water tub in the field yesterday. One of the two goats was nosing around, seeing what I was doing. I was mostly ignoring him and keeping an eye on my camp kids who were cleaning another tub a little ways away. Suddenly I felt this wicked pain in my right eyebrow. Glasses fall off, I start cursing. I figure he must have got his head under my face for a split second and brought it up before I could notice.

So my right hand flies to where I got hit and I scramble to grab my glasses, hoping they're not broken because I've had them less than a week. That's when I notice all the blood pouring down my right arm. I yell for the kids to go get the camp director ("This is the one time I will TELL you to run!") and she gets me to the hospital. I spent the next five and a half hours in emergency (wasn't urgent, the bleeding stopped by the time we got to the hospital). Ended up with five stitches in my right eyebrow, and one broken lens. The hit pushed my glasses up and the edge of the frame cut my eyebrow.

Happy ending that makes this a rave: The optician is replacing the lens for free, even though "hit by goat" isn't in the warranty. A face-hit by a goat could have ended so much worse. Scar should be pretty minimal, and might even look kinda cool. :laugh:

This kind of makes me excited to go the AVC. Maybe I'll get a scar from a farm animal, I need some street cred :laugh: Glad you are ok.

I think vet med might be the only field where "I got this scar when I got smashed in the face by a goat" qualifies as street cred. :laugh:

Rave: Random three day weekend bc my job is awesome.
They brought to my attention that I earned another vacation day and to take today off..... ok! 😀

And my truck is getting an interior/ exterior detail today. Normally costs $450, bought a living social deal for $99 last year 😀
She's gone ten years without one. Time to treat her to a spa day 😉

Today was awesome! I had been going to meet up with a friend from my program, but she was busy. I decided to go into town anyway and see the zoo. Turns out, my friend was at the zoo too and we met up! Then we went to a free museum with another friend, had yummy Chinese food, and went to a pub. Possibly the best weekend of my trip, largely because it was such a crazy random happenstance. 😀

Haha. I'll be on the lookout. I think I sort of promised him (and therefore, you) a pizza kit from my dad's pizza shop. He got so excited when he found out I had connections on another thread.
 
I'm jealous. I'd like awesome pizza again. Ever since I moved here and can't go to my favorite old Italian guy anymore, I haven't gotten any real good pizza unless I go back to visit.. 🙁
 
I have 9 full days off! July 21-29! 😀 There's no kids booked in for camps the week of July 23-27, and boss asked me if I wanted her to keep it open so I could have that week off. YES YES YES! And it's the week of the Tall Ships Festival in Halifax too.

Hopefully I will finally get rid of the awful tan marks on my back today!
 
I went to our first puppy meeting with Ivy today and got lots of compliments. Apparently for her starting later than most puppies and being a GS instead of the good labs most people have, she is doing very well. I'm so happy to hear that. She is the first dog I am taking care and raising all on my own and I was worried I'm not doing good enough.

love this 👍👍 i had a hard time finding somewhere to live, but did find something at the end of the day after i had looked at like 10 places (and with a great roommate too). where are you living? i'm in Concord Hall.

I could potentially be living like right next door to you! I'm trying to find a 3rd roomie for a 3br at either 4400 Spruce or Concord Hall. No luck yet...otherwise I really like this 2 br bi-level apartment on the same block but on Pine street. The potential roomie just hasn't said she definitely wants to do the 2 br (it's a little more expensive but was pretty nice). I don't want to push people, but I need to know where I'm living.

there's TONS of vet students at concord hall. i was thinking of arranging something for a bunch of us to do during orientation week (like a bar crawl or something). i'm paying $775/month + tv/internet/electric for the 2BR that i got (it's a little more expensive than the other places i had looked that day, but let me tell you so many of the places were terrible!)

Oh I know! I was trying to stay on the lower end, but it just wasn't working out. Plus, I wanted to be closer to the school. If the 3 br works out, it's only like $630/month +utilities. The 2 br on Pine is just under $700/month +utilities but doesn't require deposits for pets. Plus, pretty sure the landlord was Irish. The guy he had over to fix something in the room with the washer/drier definitely was and I'm pretty sure the landlord had a bit of an accent, but not as strong. Only thing I'm kind of worried about is cause it's a basement apartment so I worry electricity could get high. But we'd get the front porch!

Thanks. She's my girl. She was actually seized from a puppy mill, had had multiple litters by the time I got her. She was fearful and dog aggressive.

You see her running in the first shot? It makes me deliriously happy. 3 years ago she ruptured 5 discs and was fully paralyzed in her hind end. From one day to the next, no pain sensation in her rear feet. After surgery and three months of treatment and patience, she is up and running. 😍 I love her so much.
 
So I posted here a bit ago about my fan crapping out on my laptop...

I dropped it off the couch yesterday on accident... and the next time I went to boot it up, I didn't get the fan error. And it's working better than it ever did before. :laugh: Obviously not a full-out fix, but that sure went better than expected.

Sounds like my keurig that is "unfrozen" by my fist each morning, or the vending machine I just pounded on because it was hoarding my swedish fish. 😀

sounds like the speaker on my lenovo. It randomly stops working and randomly starts working. I try whacking it, but not sure that helps or not.
 
Took my dogs out to the lake for the first time. It was so much fun watching them figure the water out. Kya (11 month Alaskan Malamute) was like Tigger jumping through the grass. It was awesome.
 
I gave Ivy a bath today because she happy peed all over herself when she saw my whole family at once. :laugh:

She likes water but wasn't really sure about having it all over her. I got some pictures and they are so cute. Love them. And her. 😍
