When does your fiancé come home and where's he deployed to?

My husband is Navy and he's been in Spain, Israel, Germany, and the Netherlands since June. He was able to take 10 days of leave so I went to visit him in Spain in early October. It was so much fun! Best deployment ever.

He's in afghani land lol we are only a month into a 9-14 month long deployment.. Not sure when he will be home. He's a Medic in the Army, and I'm sooo proud of him 😀 😍

One of my friends is in Afghanistan, too. I'm really happy that I can talk to him regularly and make sure he's ok.

Yes, that makes a World of a difference! We get to talk almost everyday. And when we don't get to talk I get pretty anxious.

I talked to him earlier and usually he answer very quickly and always says when he's getting off. This time he just disappeared without anything. 😕

My fiancé did that earlier today, we were having a conversation then he quit responding. 🙁 you just have to remember that the service over there isn't good and the Internet just drops sometimes :/ if he could have said bye he would.

Yea, I'm hoping he'll be back on, but I should hear from him by tomorrow. :xf: It's the first time I know someone that's deployed, so it's a bit weird at first. Another friend is going next year, I think.

So this has nothing to do with veterinary anything but....we beat Bama. Boom!

So refreshing to have a glimmer of hope that watching football on Saturdays won't be just a bipolar, depressing ritual for once.

That's all I got.

That was such a great game to watch! I was thinking it was too good to be true when we were up 20-0 and then they came back swinging.

And I agree, it's been quite an experience to be a fan of Aggie football

I thought you guys were going to pull the typical Aggie "build up a nice lead then blow it" crap you did all last year. Thanks for joining the SEC and then pushing a Big 12 team into the championship (as long as they take care of business that is) over an SEC team.

Few tips for you lol. Don't ever expect to talk everyday or you will have panic attacks when you don't 😀. It's probably the worst thing you can do to yourself. I was bartending at the time and my boss new that when I got a blocked number phone call, I would drop a drink in the middle of making it to answer my phone lol. Secondly, when conversations drop, it's definitely scary, but you have the right idea.
My BF was in a pretty bad spot and I would hear huge booms, the phone line cut out, and I wouldn't hear from him for 3 weeks :scared:
They would get attacked while I was talking to him and the rockets would destroy the phone lines. I don't say that to scare you, just sharing I guess lol. Sounds like you are doing well with it so far. 🙂

Lol Im working on the, don't expect to here from him. I haven't gotten an actual phone call since he was in Kyrgyzstan waiting to move into afghan. Our #1 source of communication is FB chat. The FOB that he is at allows the guys to purchase wifi in their living quarters. It's goon enough for FB chat, but not for Skype 🙁 but I guess it's a good thing bc I don't hear bombs & such while we are chatting... I'd be a nervous wreck lol. I'm thinking about making a current/ former military SO thread.. There seems to be quite a few of us lol 😍

My friend just posted this on FB lol
5 things guaranteed to happen during deployment

WHOOP! Enough said.

AND now that TAMU beat Bama, Notre Dame got a chance to move to the top. Still hoping for a BCS championship :xf:

👍 current/former military SO thread

A couple months ago my husband called from a satellite phone in the middle of the Mediterranean. One minute we were having a normal conversation, the next minute he was all giddy with excitement because there was a 5' diameter sea turtle swimming next to the ship, then poof, he was gone. He called me back the next day ... he had gotten so excited about the sea turtle he dropped and broke the phone

There is literally nothing I could do for school right now even if I wanted to (and lord knows I don't!). I am officially done with classes (until Monday when 2 new ones start). It's a very very strange feeling. :scared: 😍

You and every Aggie out there, except those that claim they didn't, and we call those folks 'liars'.

My rats are healthy! Their lungs sound fine. The vet only charged us $24 for the visit and said if I needed antibiotics just to call. I was expecting to pay $80 on an exam and meds.

The overtime I have been working has added up to $200 this pay cheque. I am happy about that.

My rave is just that this thread is here to read. I had a really stressfull morning, and then I came on here and read this - it makes me really happy to read about all the good things in all your lives.

Big congrats, Lissa!!

I've had a heck of a day. My pathology professor let us out early, which means Thanksgiving Break started about 20 minutes earlier. My husband is done with his 6 month away rotation so he is back for good until his next adventure, which will be abroad. My dog has not peed on the bed and my cat has not puked (both events happened yesterday).

I also had a fabulous horseback riding lesson. Last week I was sort of a mess after finding out a close friend of my husband's family AND one of my husband's great aunts passed away, and my riding was ugly ugly ugly. I went back today with a clear head and I rocked all those things I was doing poorly just a week ago. My instructor also got very excited about my cantering (today was my third time doing so) and that made me happy.

I love cantering 😍 ... like love love love. It's so fluid and I just love it 😀

Glad this week is going better for you!

Lots of raves today. In our bovine GI lab, I helped pass an orogastric tube and then did my first rectal palpation. Then tonight a bunch of us got together (with lots of snacks and hot chocolate and just a smidge of peppermint schnapps) to make holiday cards and crafts to sell at next week's craft fair. We had an absolute blast and ended up with a pretty impressive bunch of cards and dog/cat bow ties. 😀

That was literally the most fun I've had in a long time.

My rave is taking the weekend off to do nothing before finals start in a couple weeks.

My combined birthday/Christmas present arrived today!!!!!!! OMG I've never seen a more beautiful set of luggage 😀 😍 I feel goofy being so excited about this, but it makes the idea of moving somewhere feel so real!! Yay yay yay :soexcited: :biglove:

So I miss typed baptism and somehow all spell correct can offer is "Zimbabwe"... yes spell correct that's exactly what I was looking for!

BF is on his flight here!!!!!!!!! :biglove:

Having the best day so far. Slept 10 hours last night (AMAZING), took the dogs on a 2 hour hike this morning so they're completely knocked out, cleaned my guinea pig's cage, and started laundry.

I'm pretty sure my younger dog will sleep through obedience class later (we're working on CGC certification)

Now I'm going to make pancakes, a veggie omelet, and breakfast potatoes 😀

My spirits are high - only have 3 days of work this week then a 4 day weekend. HALLELUJAH!! :hardy:

Hope you all have a marvelous day!

My dogs right now, post hike:

Ok, I'm going to make breakfast now 🙂

Send me your productivity levels! (And your breakfast )

Today I saw Wreck-it Ralph, which was AMAZING, had a great lunch with friends (I amused the cashier with my reaction to being order number 42 and got vanilla root beer out of the mega coke machine) and make chocolate-pumpkin cupcakes. Everything was awesome.

Thank you Ann Taylor Loft for your new sizing that runs very large. The very nice saleslady tried to tell me what size I was and I refused to believe her, but it felt nice to be wrong and get a size I have never fit into, even though I know that's not really my size.

I LOVE Ann Taylor Loft because they have a great petite section! Banana Republic too!! 😍

I love when my grouchy, aloof calico cat acts like a kitten and chases her tail around in circles.

Also I rode my horse this weekend for the first time in probably 2 months of absolute hell and being convinced he was going to die any second, and I get to go home and see my boyfriend and family this week.

I love Ann Taylor Loft for their skinny jeans. My favorite. I should go try on their other pants (those are always a little tighter)
