The passages are longer on qvault than the real DAT. I think qVault is like 17-20, whereas real DAT is more 12-15. I thought qVault was representative of the actual RC. except real DAT had maybe 2-3 more tone questions. I think if you average 20+ on qvault, you should pull off a 20+ on the real deal.
Took my test today.. It think qvault prepares you fairly well, however I will say that accounting for bad luck on tests (piano/physics passage) you may want to mess around with methods other than search and destroy. I was averaging a 23 on the first 4 datqvault RC's with search and destroy and unfortunately had a really tough passage that search and destroy didn't really work for which I think is why I got a 20. Also, I know that the passages are extremely long on datqvault but the real DAT was much shorter 8-13ish paragraphs--HOWEVER, they are longer paragraphs and they are much more dense and complicated. I thought mine was a little bit harder than topscore RC--dat qvault was much easier as far as questions go, although i struggled with time on those. Hope that helps, I really suggest doing the 3 topscore RC's as they were more representative of my dat. Averaged 21 on them
Piano! You mean you may get non=science passage?
What do you think about Kaplan method?
this was the one section I was most worried about going into the DAT since I showed no results on improvement. I took my DAT today and got a 20RC and thankfully it was my easiest section. I would say based on the difficulty level qvault was the best representation. I averaged around a 17-18 on qvault RC, 15-16 on achiever RC and 16 on CDR. The passages were all very easy to map out so I started out reading the passages, but once I was done with my first passage I only had 36 mins left. I highly recommend S/D, which worked very well. I wish i would've practiced more on S/D than actually reading the passages. Saves you a lot of time. I only had 1 tone question out of 50.
