Does anyone know what a typical day is like for the first year of the GEP program?

AM lectures, small-group tutorials, computerised self-test quizzes and anatomy dissections covering the following topics:
curriculum said:
Modules in semester 1
•Haemopoietic and immune (HIS)
•Neuromuscular (NM)
•Molecular Medicine
•Nutrition and energy (NE)
•Genitourinary (GU)
•HBS (Health, Behaviour and Society)
•Clinical Competencies (CC)
.

There are also video-linked Grand Rounds from the major teaching hospital and practical skills (iv cannulation, blood pressure etc.) session.

So the typical day is 9-5pm

man. i wish my program was like that. i'm 2 months from graduating and i went in today and both lectures that were supposed to happen were no shows. this happens about 3-4 times a week. iv cannulation? wow. i don't know what to say. glad i'm getting the hell out of here though so i can actually learn how to DO something. maybe you DO get more for your money at RCSI. who knew!?

Thanks for your help! If there are any current American or Canadian students currently at RCSI reading this, would you mind sharing your experiences and thoughts about the school and anything that entering students should know about living in Dublin? Thanks!

can't comment on rcsi (obviously) but i can comment on living in dublin. it is probably the most fun city i've ever been to and has the best nightlife vibe out of anywhere i've been (blows toronto out of the water, and every other european city i've been to with the exception of a few places in the UK). you'll have a great time here, but it's expensive and not always the easiet place to get things done. certain things like the peculiarities of the banking system take time to get used (or you just don't get used to them) but you learn to live with it all. take advantage of ryanair and TRAVEL. best thing i ever did.
