Hey people,

Kinda copied this post from someone who had simliar story to mine. I am new to SDN and was seeking advice. I am a re-applying to medical schools this year (2 year gap since last application and undergrad), NY resident. I want to know if I should apply to school with my current stats and hope to get in or should retry on the MCAT. I would prefer to get into state school.

This is what I am applying with cGPA: 3.72 and sGPA: 3.66

MCAT took in March 2017: 509 (Chem 127, CARS 127, BIO 129, Pysch 126)

Extracurriculars: Research: 300 hours, Clinical Volunteering: 100 hours, Nonclinical Volunteering (several roles): 150 hours, Paid Position (scribing): 1000 hours

I have school committee letter and 5 LORs (two MDs and 3 school professors).

You are fine to apply in June with your current stats. I suggest all these schools:
All 4 SUNY's
Albany
New York Medical College
Vermont
Quinnipiac
Seton Hall
Penn State
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
George Washington
Eastern Virginia
NOVA MD
Oakland Beaumont
Wayne State
Medical College Wisconsin
Rosalind Franklin
Loyola
St.Louis
Creighton
TCU-UNT
Loma Linda
Also apply to at least 6 DO schools and include NYIT.
