Hey guys, when I reapplied, I applied a mix of both schools I applied to last time, and "new" schools which I've never applied to before. So far I've (luckily) gotten a few interview invitations. However, I notice that they are all from the "new" schools. Do schools automatically put your file on the bottom, to review at their leisure, if you've applied to that school before?

I couldn't say about all schools. I applied to Penn State somewhat late (complete in Nov.) last year. I was reviewed and put on the 'further review' list and then got an interview invite in March and was wait listed. This time around I got an invite almost right after being complete, in the first week of interviews. Still haven't hear anything yet, but I'm definitly keeping my fingers crossed.

Though I also interviewed/waitlisted at Jefferson last year and still haven't heard anything from them yet. So... who knows?

Same here. I got an early interview invite from Penn State this time around. Hopefully, it's a beginning of something extraordinary 😀 Let the waiting game begin.... ::sigh::

Oww, I'm tired of the waiting game, let's play Hungry Hungry Hippo!! 😀

"Hungry Hungry Hippos! Why, I didn't know they had tournaments!?" - from Will Ferrel's 'Bad Doctor' skit on SNL (anyone seen that?)

anyway, i received interviews fairly early this year from two schools that did not interview me last year. so, go figure.

Hi there,
Your application be it re-application or not is ranked according to its competitiveness with the other applications received. Most schools look favorably on re-applicants especially if they have done something meaningful to make their application more competitive. This is along the lines of you must be determined to practice medicine because you have invested the time and energy to re-apply.

It is still very, very early in the application process and applications are up this year. Waiting is a B--CH, so work on your Plan B (what you are going to do if you do not get accepted). The more elaborate your Plan B, the greater your chances of acceptance. Get something together and work on it. If nothing else, it keeps you away from the mailbox.

Excellent point, njbmd. As a reapplicant, I have really worked to improve my application (getting a masters in epidemiology, conducting and publishing research of interest to me). Just today I received an interview from Drexel, a school that had rejected me last year.
