Hey SDN,
Anyone know how to go about re-uploading a letter from my supervisor to AACOMAS? He accidentally forgot to handsign it and sent me an updated letter on Interfolio. Now I know for AMCAS you can just submit the letter with the same Letter ID, but for AACOMAS should I just start a new letter submission and upload it?

I've emailed AACOMAS earlier this morning but haven't gotten a response yet so I'm hoping someone out there could help!
Thanks.

I am not sure you can delete already submitted LOR through the online app, so contacting AACOMAS will certainly help.

Just curious, do letter writers have to print, sign, and scan a letter to get it to be handsigned? Sounds like a hassle lol.

I ran into this no sig and also a no university letterhead problem last cycle. One of my schools contacted me and let me know.

I was told by AACOMAS that there was nothing they could do once the letter has already went out, not sure if they fixed that for this year.

The schools that cared requested I have the professor email the letter directly to them, from a professional email address so as to speed the process. I emailed all my schools to let them know but only a handful of schools actually cared (ACOM, PCOM, Nova, don't remember who the other two were). Most were fine if the professor typed his/her name at the bottom, as they considered it equal to an electronic signature.

The schools seemed to understand that you gave up seeing it so have no control over if the professor screws up.

Good luck

Yes.. It is a pain! One physician I asked couldn't figure it all out so I ended up deleting his request.

Thanks much, Dr. Mike! This was exactly the advice I needed. I'll follow up with the schools that I've applied to, thankfully I don't have a lot of emails to send out.

what about LORs with no letter head ,......can someone comment on that?

I think the process would be the same with letters without letterhead/signature. What I would do (and I am doing) is emailing the schools to find out the best way to get the updated letters to them. Hope this helps!

Hi @3member , I did not want to hack your thread. But, can you do new LOR submission after submitting your app?

You know what @DingDongD, I've considering doing that but I didn't want to pay another $6+ processing fee to AACOMAS to find out if that method wasn't going to work. So for the time being, I've emailed AACOMAS (haven't heard back from them yet, and received a really weird auto-email back..) and I've emailed the schools.

Some schools like Dr. Mike mentioned, already have their guidelines posted on how to update LORs so you should check each school's website before emailing them (something I should have done haha 😉).

But to answer your Q, I haven't tried yet. Maybe someone else can chime in on that.

I'll keep this thread updated if AACOMAS/schools get back to me

I just had this experience. What I did was I just had my letter writer email aacomas and ask them to open the submission of the old unsigned letter. Then, I just deleted that old letter, and sent my new signed letter via interfolio to aacomas.
