Re-using LORs

so since i havent had much luck this cycle...im mentally preparing already to have to re apply next year...
i had 4-5 LORs and they wud be dated 2011 ofcourse..mid-2011 to be specific
now if i apply in 2012...can i still re-use them?
it would be SUPER hard to go back to all those ppl and get a new LOR again...
they all already took pretty long...since im a non-traditional and my interaction with them was before...it wud be even longer next year and they might not be willing to change the date and send to interfolio and what not again...

so can i just re-send the same ones just how they are?
has anybody done that?

Generally it would be ok to reuse these letters of recommendation if you plan on applying to different schools than this cycle's schools.. if you're reapplying to the same schools, submit the same letters but maybe look for a new LOR from a different person to add into the mix. They want to see what you've done SINCE applying previously, and a new LOR would look much better than just throwing the same letters back at them.

Also, do you know what you did wrong this cycle? If your numbers are competitive and you applied early, maybe you have an LOR that is torching you. Not saying it is, just make sure you fix what's wrong.

Yeah I used mine old ones the past cycle as a reapplicant and was fine, but you have time to get some more shadowing in and build some relationships, might as well get new letters if possible.

You should still try to contact your writers to ask them to update it with the new stuff that you did (hope you have been constantly improving your apps). In addition, do try to get a new one.

I reused and added a few more -- still got interviews with them. In the end I had to 2 new ones for MSU because of there format.

Excuse me for my ignorance, but the people writing the LOR's mail them to AACOMAS and AMAC, right?I was going to ask a grad teacher to write one for me, but I don't plan on applying until the 2013 or maybe even for the 2014 cycle. Should I just wait until I'm ready to apply to ask a LOR to write a letter for me?

Set up an Interfolio Account. Ask professor to send letter to interfolio. Use interfolio to send letter to all schools with a click of a button (and some greenbacks).

Yes that is the one. And no, you cannot see what they wrote. They block it out since its supposed to be confidential.
