Thanks for all the input re my question about Jacobi vs. LIJ. Now, my question is where does North Shore fit into the picture in terms of both learning and fellowships relative to Jacobi and LIJ? Same, better, or worse? Any chance of getting a consensus on this one?

i'm afraid to weigh in on this...i think north shore was okay for cards and gi, not strong for heme onc...

its very much like lij in terms of fellowship placement...

At North Shore, lots of people would end up staying in the LIJ system. I am sure LIJ has the same issue.

Do either LIJ, north shore, or jacobi require you to be a chief resident (PGY-4) before accepting you to their cardio or gi fellowship?

No, I've never heard of such a requirement.
