Bump.

To all you would-be readers, even a general comment on my PS direction would be good!

If you post you should share it in public and not just make it private

I'd be willing to give it a read-over 🙂

If you PM it to me, I'll give it a look. I assume this is for next year🙂

Hi guys, I am a non-trad with a freshly-minted JD applying to MD schools. I would appreciate if any kind souls would be able to comment on my PS.
(It would help if you have a JD, but that does not necessarily make for a good critique. J
Email me at [email protected] if you are able to help, thanks!

Hi, I have a JD from a few years back, and would be willing to critique your PS. If you'd like another set of eyes, feel free to PM me.

i'll take a peek at it if you want

feel free not to share, but why the sudden change of heart specially since you mentioned freshly minted JD.?

Sure! PM me please!

On SDN you may get some general writing and tone tips. However, you must realize you are asking complete strangers (most of whom are still in the same position as you) for advice on your personal statement...ironic?

Thanks, but I'll take my chances; anyhow the few responses I have gotten so far have been pretty helpful.

Hi guys, firstly I like to thank all those SDN users who have helped me with my PS the past month or so!🙂 I have reworked it according to your advice and have gotten a few interview invites to a broad range of schools. Now, I like to hear some honest feedback on the final draft of my PS (for those who haven't had the chance) to prepare me for my interviews in the next couple of weeks.

Any comments are welcome, ie, you could just let me know how you 'feel' after reading it. But if you spot any gaps in my PS I should address as well, it'll be awesome too.

Drop me a PM if you can help take a look at my submitted PS, thanks!!

Wait, you submitted your primary, got verified, submitted secondaries and got interview invites all in less than a month 😕 am I missing something here? Are you super-applicant or something?

Well he does have JD...

My father is an english teacher and he says he would not mind reading it. If you'd like his feedback you can PM me and I'll give you his email.

And would you not need the personal statement in the app to get the interview in the first place, or is it a secondary personal statement?

Hi chman, my apps are completed and I am asking for help to prepare me for my interviews. Hope that clarifies!

Figure out how to explain your screen-name to interviewers. I've been told many times, the biggest thing they look for is someone that they believe will finish, and use the degree. Being Mr. Freshly Minted JD is going to raise a flag or 6 as to why you are applying to medical school, and whether you'll practice if you graduate. What's to stop you from deciding you want a degree in Astrophysics next?

This thread has to be a joke.

This guy didn't have his primary complete until mid-to-late November and claims he is already complete WITH interviews?

When you are this late, your stats barely matter. There is no way you'd be getting an interview before February.

Wierdo.

Well, if NPH says so.

i don't think OP is looking for help editing/revising his personal statement. he mentioned preparing for interviews, so i guess he's looking for certain types of questions/conversations that will arise from when another person reads it. for example, "hey guys, after reading this essay about me, what kinds of questions might i expect about it during an interview?"

Yea, after reading the post again I misread...
