read recent OHSU post on scutwork?

Anyone read the most recent (March 26, I think) review of OHSU on scutwork.com?...unexpectedly, to me, negative. Of course, there is the n=1 issue, but...I am now reconsidering doing a subI there, esp. since there are so many great west coast options.

Does anybody have similar negative opinions about the place? I have previoulsy heard great things about OHSU. I remember noticing someone on SDN was headed there for residency and was quite excited about it. Are you someone around? Any comments about the scutwork post or have any guess what happened there when everything else seems so positive?

Not the med student, but I did go along on a pre-interview dinner for OHSU, so I can say that as for "The residents all got along, but it didn't seem as if they really liked one another or liked spending time together." HA! OHSU was the rowdiest, fun-lovingest bunch of residents I've ever seen!

The low pt volume probably explains why the med students got few procedures and therefore felt bored and sidelined. Maybe you should choose another program for an away rotation if you want the educational experience, and let the interview day speak for itself as far as auditioning the program?

as a student who did a rotation there and away and is going there next year for residency i can probably give you some info...i definitely think as far as a med student rotation goes there are far better experiences, but that being said it was my first choice for residency. i was looking for different things for my med school rotation and my training program. i did my away at hennepin which was incredible because you have so much autonomy...but as for residency i wanted a program with more structured teaching which ohsu definitely has. as for the residents getting along i agree with the prev post...they are a rowdy fun loving bunch and i can't wait to join in 😉 feel free to pm me if you have specific questions about the program....
