Im hearing mixed reviews on reading.
For those who have taken it and did well- is it mostly inference questions or of the factual search type. Also how do/did you guys study for it? I don't want to ignore it considering it counts just as much as any other section.

You most definitely do not want to ignore reading. Despite what Barron's says in their study book, many schools pay particular attention to this section, as it shows how well you can retain information and use it. The danger of the RC section is not only that it is long and tedious; it also comes from the fact that the section is right after the sciences/PAT parts, and I think that at this point most folks are extremely tired and weary--a sort of psychological wall. You gotta brace yourself for a determined push through this part.

From my two tests, I saw about a 75-25 split of detail-inference questions, respectively. Those that are good speed readers or just read a lot will have an inherent advantage in this section. I would advise lots of practice and attention in this section.

thanks. I noticed you did very well on reading. can you please tell me what materials you used, as well as your specific approach to answering the question. read, skim, search etc.?
