Those who have taken the Kaplan DAT course...

Did the "mapping" strategy work for you?

For me, I think it just consumes more time & costs more effort it's not really worth it at the end. I usually run out of time while trying to locate that "keyword" in the passage, etc.

What strategy works for you?

Any recommendation where I can get some practices done for RC?

My inadvertent strategy involved misreading the info in the Kaplan blue book about the DAT breakdown, so I thought you only got 50 minutes for 50 questions in reading comprehension. It was a pretty cool surprise on test day to get 10 extra minutes 😀

The "search and destroy" thing works reasonable well for me. I hear that some people read all the questions before reading the passage, but personally I liked skimming for the basic idea of the passage (reading a sentence or two in each paragraph) before starting the "search and destroy."
 
what is the "search and destroy" strategy, can you clarify? Is it just reading the q's and going back to look for the answer, or is there more to it?
