I've just finised my first reading comprehension practice test. It had 50 questions and 3 passages. I was suppose to complete it in 50 minutes, but ended up finishing in 2 hours. I don't know what to do, I've been doing the roadmap thing and I think that's what's taking so long.

the roadmap is a waste of time. dont even read it just go to the questions, find a key word, and find that word in the passage.

do you go to the first question and then look for the answer? or do you look through all the questions first, and then go back and look for answers?

I just read the passage and write key words down and when I'm done reading the passage I answer the questions. Have any of you had this same problem? I'm thinking I'm not going to have enough time to answer the questions and have to guess on most of them. I did terrible on time with this practice test.

I'm the slowest reader any one can ever meet and thus I fear trying a practice for RC ...but when I finally do...I think I will just do as was stated above...read all the questions first...jot down what they're asking...then go back to the passage and search for the answers...i hope this will work well...any other ideas??

im still trying to decide what method to use and my test is in a week..last time i got a 20 on RC and i spent 25 minutes on the first passage 25 on the 2nd and skimmed for the first 4 or 5 questions of passage 3 then filled in C for all the remaining 12 problems or so and i ended up with a 20 but i know i got lucky...the problem i have with reading is that i read and i forget what i read..the problem with skimming is i have trouble finding stuff its a matter of chance...ima try mapping 2nite and see how that goes

guys I don tknow if it is a good idea to look for answers in the passage by going straight to the questions. People said that on the real dat they ask a bunch of inference type questions so it would be beneficial to skim the passage.
