I have to take a long car trip and need to study as much as possible during it ... but typically get seriously nauseous within minutes if I read in a car. Is dramamine the best OTC med to take to avoid this? Anyone else have some personal tricks?

I personally used to do that when I was still in my 1st year of college. Now that entering pharmacy school will require much more time dedication in time and concentration, flash cards will be a good idea if you are considering spending some time reading something while you are in the car. You might possibly summarize some of the material that you;re planning on reading/studying in the car to the flash cards so that you don't have to read the whole sentence/paragrah just to get the idea.

My pharmacists always recommend Dramamine, but my mom swears by the Sea-Band wristband with the accupressure studs..

Thanks for the tips, both of you. I did a little research into the various products (including the wristband) ... the wristband had uniformly poor test results. Dramamine is pretty classic and OTC, but someone suggested scopolamine patches to me ... I might try that.

As far as flashcards ... I did have a plan like that but did not have time to prepare ahead of time, which is why I asked about meds. I would definitely go with flashcards ... but also I've been thinking of reading my texts out loud and recording them as MP3, so that i can listen to them when I'm on the road. This is particularly good since I normally drive alone, so flashcards are out.
