MD Reading slow vs reading fast multiple times

I am wondering will it.be more efficient if i can for example :

Instead if reading something 3 times slowly , i read it 6 times fast in the same amount of time.
I don't mean speed reading per say , but reading words 2x faster than normal
Will it decrease my retention ?

Do you really need 3 threads to ask the same question?

You need a little bit of both. Ideally you can slow read everything a million times. But you don't have time for that. So, you compromise both the quality of some of your reads and the quantity to some happy medium. We can't define this, as it is subject, school, and student dependent.

Just make sure your repetitions are spaced out. ie don't re-read the same lecture for the 2nd or 3rd time before making a pass through all of the material. This was you better manage your time and cover everything equally.

One approach: quick skim through the lecture beforehand. More thorough read sometime in the next week, medium speed read before the exam.

For things like micro and pharm that need more memorization, I used to try to memorize throughout the block, little bits every day with some built in review of older stuff.

Reading is a pretty passive way of learning. Whether you're reading it 3 times slow or 6 times fast in the same amount of time, at some point you have to understand what it is you're reading and not just reading it to get through it-if that's the case, what's the point?
